Picasa questions

I've heard it talked about here, but I never wanted to invest the time to get it set up. Well, since unregistering the .dll that causes the latest Windows exploit, MS Fax and Picture Viewer no longer works. No big deal, I figured, and downloaded Picasa2.

So I went ahead and installed it and it cataloged the pictures on my laptop. I don't really care about those, what I need to do is view the pictures on my desktop which are shared over the network. I figured out I needed to import them, but I can't find a way to add multiple pictures to the Import Tray. I tried highlighting the root folder, with multiple subfolders of pictures, but that didn't work. I tried highlighting the subfolder, but that doesn't work either. I tried shift+first and last photo to get the whole contents of a subfolder, but that won't work either. Do I have to import every one of the thousands of photos one at a time?

A followup, do those photos get copied to the laptop (they won't all fit)? I just want to view the photos over the network, not copy them over.

Any help would be appreciated.

I went to watch a show on my Series 2 Tivo last night and when I turned on the TV it said "Powering up please wait" it then got to the almost there screen, then flickered and went blank and then back to the "powering up..." screen  . Turned off power by unplugging the power cord and plugging it back in, still no go.

Any suggestions?

Record from separate DVD player to Tivo Dvd Recorder

Hi,
I just got the Toshiba DVD Recorder and want to record from my other DVD Player/VCR Combo to my Tivo DVD Recorder. How do I connect both DVD players, so I can do this? I've also got an HD Cable Box that needs to be connected to them. Any help would be appreciated because so far I've got the cable and Tivo hooked up, but don't know how to connect the DVD player, so I can record from it. I don't see an example of this in the set-up directions that came with the unit either. Thanks!

No PC icon on Now Playing List....

Hey everyone, I have had my home network setup for almost 2 months and have been exploring all of the awesome network features on my 2 TiVo's.

Until 2-3 days ago, everything worked perfectly. My setup is as follows: Sony SVR-3000 and TiVo 540 (40hr.) both connected with a Linksys USB 200M wired adaptor connected to my Linksys WRT54G router. The Linksys adapters work fine (green lights) and the network seems to be working properly as is almost all of the network TiVo functionality.

-On each TiVo I can see the other TiVo, as well as transfer shows between the two.
-On my PC I can see each TiVo and Transfer shows to the PC.
-On each TiVo the network connection is healthy and new program info, as well as Rocketboom updates/downloads each day.
-On each TiVo I can view Photos and listen to the music that is on my PC as well as use the games and Yahoo stuff (weather, traffic, etc.)

Here is the weird part, with everything working as described above, I cannot see my PC on either TiVo. The TiVo software is running, and I have the little TiVo icon on the system tray on the PC. Additionally, I have restarted the PC numerous times, as well as confirmed all the settings in the TiVo software. I have pushed the Pause/Resume button in the TiVo software. Additionally, I have confirmed in my firewall that the TiVo Beacon is set to "allow".

Am I missing something? Why would this work fine for weeks then all of a sudden stop? Why would I have all of the functions except for one? It seems the problem is in the PC but I just can not figure it out.

Any help would be appreciated.

Channel Changing Problem

Searched the FAQ and threads but didn't find anything like this.

My TiVo has stopped being able to switch to channels 412, 512, and 612. It switches fine to all other channels ending in 12.

I am using an IR tent with my Motorola cable box. The thing that is weird is that it changes the channel on the cable box fine, but it inputs the 4 fine then the 1 fine and then the 2 displays really fast and the channel never changes. You can distinctly see all channels input on the cable box except the ending is really fast. All other channels ending in 12 change just fine and the numbers on cable box display fine and at normal speed.

Tried changing IR codes but still does the same thing.

Any suggestions?
