What is going on with Showtimes Jermiah?

I thought they were coming out with a new season.

If anyone knows anything, please enlighten me.

I don't have Showtime anymore, which stinks because I kind of liked Jeremiah. But, I've heard that it's been canceled and they will show the last 8 episodes later this year.

The show was cancelled after the second season, but Showtime has so far only shown the first half of season 2. The second half will air later this year. After that, they will hopefully release the second season on DVD.

BTW, this thread belongs in the "Now Playing - TV Show Talk" forum.

They were supposed to burn off the rest of Season 2 (calling it Season 3) this summer, but then delayed it to late this year. Word is, they actually watched the episodes, realized that it would only take a modicum of imagination to read it as highly critical of the current American administration, and decided to wait until after the election.

The story will then be continued in a comic book series (spearheaded by one of the show's producers, but NOT JMS).

Showtime says it will air them "this year". Supposedly they are debating whether to show the first half of S2 first.

After the election is as close as any other guess and that is what JMS himself is hearing thru rumors from the inside.

The show as we know it is officially history though.

Well, yes, that's what we've been saying...

(If you're talking about ADent, he means re-broadcast the first half before starting the second half, since it's been so long since they've been aired, hardly anybody even remebers what the show was about, much less what happened in the first half of the season...)

I hope they do the whole 2nd season. I only started watching after the first season so was pretty much hoping they would rerun the whole first actually

And I only remember bits and pieces of what I did see. I always assumed it would be on again to see. boy was i wrong

Showtime Too (DirecTV channel 538) is reshowing the first several episodes of season 1 on 8/6 & 8/7.

Hopefully they'll work there way through every episode.

--

I just looked and epguides.com shows the un-aired episodes of season 2 starting September 3. It'll be nice if they are correct.

Don't you hate it when networks dump a show half way through its run? Well if you're a "Jeremiah" or "Odyssey 5" fan you know what it's like -- and you're in luck.

Both shows, which have been off the air for more than a year, will finally have their conclusions aired.

"Jeremiah" will return to Friday nights. Despite fans' and producers' protests, the show had remained on hiatus for so long that all talent contracts have expired. Fans who missed the first season can tune into Showtime Too starting Aug. 6.

"Odyssey 5," on the other hand, was launched in 2002 along with Showtime's final season of "Stargate: SG-1." Viewers were left halfway through wondering if the crew of Manny Coto's show had diverted the destruction or not. While viewers in Canada and other countries have seen the final six episodes of the series, U.S. viewers have been dangling since September 2002.

Showtime will bring the series back in September after Jeremiah's Season 1 repeats.

Coto, who created the show, has since moved on to network television, and has become the new showrunner for the fourth season of "Star Trek: Enterprise" on UPN.

from www.sftv.org:

Jeremiah Returns to Showtime, Odyssey 5 Too!
Looking at the September schedule for Showtime this morning shows that Jeremiah Season Two will finally conclude on Showtime during September. It will air first on Showtime East and West on Fridays with two episodes each week at 8 pm and 9 pm with repeats on Showtime Too on Saturdays at 9 pm and also running on Showtime Beyond on Sundays at 8 pm and Thursdays at 10 pm. In August, Showtime Too will be running Jeremiah Season One on Friday nights at 8 pm with three episodes worth each week.

'bout time, too!

here's what Lee had to say about O5:

For Odyssey Five Fans, Showtime Too will begin airing Odyssey Five on Fridays for three episodes each week at 8 pm. It is possible that they will air the episodes that have never aired in the U.S.

I'm (im)patiently waiting for the end of that show.

Hello, This is my first post:

Here in England, Sky One was showing Jeremiah and Odessey 5.

Jeremiah was cancelled at the end of season 1 and Odessey 5 was cancelled 3/4 of the way through season 1.

Two tears later and i'm still wondering what has happened.

Any DVD box sets will be useful. I've tried downloading them but that takes almost a month and is not worth the bother.

I apreciate any help!! Us fans in England deserve to be let out of the dark.

Actually, Jeremiah lasted two seasons.

Season 1 is on DVD in the US, but not Season 2.

Odyssey 5 is reportedly coming to DVD in the next few months.
