About the finale's ratings from The Washington Post's The TV Column:

[Ratings] Losers

"Teen Choice Awards." Fox's made-for-publicists trophy show suffered its smallest audience ever last week -- a puny 6.19 million viewers. Which was no doubt a crushing blow for Ashton Kutcher, who was named best TV personality and best reality/variety TV star for his work on "Punk'd," and for Lindsay Lohan, who went home laden with trophies for best movie actress in a comedy, best movie hissy fit, best movie blush and movie breakout star for her work on both "Mean Girls" and "Freaky Friday."

"For Love or Money 4." Can't believe we're wrapping the fourth edition of this cash-or-cutie reality series -- time flies, doesn't it? Anyway, last week's finale copped only 6.8 million viewers, which, given that last summer's mop-up episode had averaged 12.3 million, puts it firmly in Loser Land.

"Joe Schmo 2." As with Fox's "Joe Millionaire," sometimes the joke just doesn't work twice. A paltry 703,000 viewers watched the wrap of "JS2" last week; 3.4 million had tuned in to the final episode of the first edition.

That's 2,697,000 less viewers by my count.

At least "The Amazing Race" is finally getting good ratings. CBS should keep "The Amazing Race 6" on Tuesdays and move "Clubhouse" or "Judging Amy" to Saturdays (where #6 is scheduled). I bet "Clubhouse" will flop and CBS will move the race into its slot. (Damn! Just saw who was eliminated on CBS.com when checking to make sure Clubhouse was scheduled for Tuesday).

ReplayTV owner, but much better TV discussions here.

Well, that proves it. The mass American media audience simply has no bleepin' taste at all. Morons.

Well, I finally watched the finale (I was on an island with to electricity and no internet last week), and I must say, I was quite impressed. I'm guessing that moving the finale to a different time than any of the previous episodes probably hurt more than anything else.

The editing on the reveal was great, and I thought some of the thematic musical touches (I definately heard Shaimen's Parent Trap soundtrack in there) were perfect. The fake Montecore had me cracking up every time.

Oh, and on the Ladder Theory site, I think the most exciting thing is that I've actually been on the ladder shown in the picture! It in in New Mexico, and I'd recognize it anywhere.

One big problem that ahecht touches on - not only was the finale in a different time slot than the regular first run episodes, or even from the 10 PM Tuesday repeat slot, but they apparently made little effort to appease those who were watching regularly after WWE on Monday nights.

The Monday before the Tuesday finale, they simply reran last week's episode. Massive tuneout. They also did not schedule ANY run of the finale after WWE, and dropped it like the proverbial hot potato after it ran for its one and only time. All in all, a massive schedule screwup.

I finally got to watch the finale (Thanks TiVoSocialist), and I must say that was one of the best two hours of television I have ever seen. If they do make a Joe Schmo 3 (I know you don't want to get rid of Ralph, but...), what happens if you make the host think that he is actually hosting a reality show, and have all the contestants be actors. You could get a pompous rich guy like Trump and make a fake Apprentice show.

"Rita the Drunk" has a pretty funny video of her standup routine from the Late Late Show. Just about every joke is dead on target. She's hilarious.

Did anyone catch Jon Huertas on CSI a few weeks ago? He played an employee in a mental institution.
