If there is anything I can do for, please ask.

So what were you doing in the last 4 hours since we got off the phone?

Have you tried installing TiVoWebPlus yet?

I downloaded the data, but you have to make a serial connection so I am stumped. I do not have a port on the box to do so. It aslo says not do do it though ethernet - do you have any clue?

I've always installed TiVoWebPlus over ethernet, ftp'ing the install file to /tmp then running the installation via a telnet session. Just did that last weekend.

I just unzip the file on my PC, copy the one installation file over with ftp, then telnet in and follow the instructions (remember what I said about not typing "yes" but accept the default "yes" by just pressing enter). I don't have a link; I'd have to search over in that other place and I gotta run; I'm late already. I'm sure someone will chime in here with pointers if you have trouble finding it.

ok, I reloaded all my equipment and I am back online. I am transfering the tivoweb-tcl directory over to the /tmp directory. Seems like it is taking it's time, will keep you posted...

There's a build that's specifically for installing it from the TiVo unit. I think you've grabbed the files for manual installation.

You want this file:
http://tivo.fp2000.org/twp/tivowebplus-1.0-final.zip

Unzip that.

Then copy the file "TivoWebPlus-1.0-final.tivo.tpm" to the /tmp directory on your TiVo, and telnet to the TiVo, go to the /tmp directory and type the command:

bash TivoWebPlus-1.0-final.tivo.tpm

And press enter on the questions to accept the default responses. It will install the program.

That's all you need to do; you can then use your web browser and enter http://x.x.x.x where x.x.x.x is the IP address of your TiVo and you'll be in the TiVoWebPlus interface.

BTW, there's something about ftp support in that's installed on the TiVo that locks it up under some circumstances -- if I recall correctly, it's related to using the Windows ftp client or IE for ftp; you get one session and that's it. Using a third party ftp utility works out better. I usually use Bulletproof FTP myself.

When I unzipped that file, there are 4 files in there. Do you want me just to copy the tivoweb over to the tivo and not the others?

The one file -- the *.tpm one -- is all you need to copy. The README file contains instructions. The Changelog file is just a record of what's been changed.
