Humax DRT800F and Comcast connection problems

I'm hoping someone will know how to solve this problem. I am getting a synch problem with my Comcast Digital Cable, and the Tivo.

That's rather unspecific. What exactly is the problem - and how is your TiVo wired to your cable box? (S-Video, composite, RF?)

Well I guess I'm looking for someone with these two units to tell me how they have them connected?

I currently have the cable box -> component cables -> HDTV , with the optical audio going direct from the cable box to the HT reciever.

If I run any connection(I've tried composite, S-video, and component) thru the Tivo, I get the synch problem. Even skipping the HT reciever and just going cable box -> Tivo -> HDTV yields the same problem.

Now this is NOT a high definition Tivo, but I should still be able to use it for non HD broadcasts, correct?

What sync problem bernie? Are you saying that audio doesn't match video? Let me guess the video is behind the audio?

REMEMBER = you cannot pass the digital audio connection directly to the amplifier when you are using the TIVO.

The AUDIO must pass thru the TIVO too - in analog form. The video is delayed on the TIVO by 1.5 to 2 seconds at best.

So.. connections would go

CABLE BOX COMPONENT OUTS -> HDTV COMPONENT 1
CABLE BOX DIGITAL AUDIO > HT AMPLIFIER DIGITAL INPUT 1

You can use the correct input of the TV (component) and the correct input of the amplifier to watch HDTV stuff DIRECTLY (no TIVO involved) if you so wish.

THEN.. you can hook up..

CABLE BOX SVID -> TIVO.. AND TIVO COMPONENT OUT -> HDTV COMPONENT INPUT 2
CABLE BOX ANALOG -> TIVO -> HT AMPLIFIER DIGITAL INPUT 2

Following that setup, when you are viewing/listening to inputs 1 on the TV and AMP you see HDTV from the cable box directly. When you are on INPUTS 2, then you are seeing TIVO Video and audio ..
