TiVO remote to change channels on TV

I programmed the remote for TiVO so it controls TV input and power and volumne - but I cannot change the channels on the TV with it. Is it possible to use the peanut to change channels on the TV? If it matters - TV is a Toshiba and the TiVO is the HUMAX DRT 800.

thanks for the response - sure is unfortunate. I guess I will have to keep my second remote - sigh!

TiVO - any plans for a real universal remote solution - there are many out there

Why not pick up a Dtivo remote off of ebay cheap? It won't have the DVD function keys, but won't be using them if your controlling your TV?

That's exactly why it doesn't make sense for TiVo to put more money into a universal remote. The people who really want one can buy one, while most users are fine with the remote as is.

I just received the Humax DRT800 and have a Toshiba Cinema series TV (CN27E90) and programmed it with the first code listed (0233), it worked fine for all TV functions. Perhaps another code (there are 16) may work better than the one you tried.

when you say "all TV functions" Do you mean you can change the input to the TV then use the TiVo remote to change channels on the TV?

I may have to search more - all indications I received was I was SOL.
