Either way will get you there. I'd follow Merc's directions which are more direct - Google has you cutting through the subdivisions.

It's been a few years since I've gone that way, but it should be a good alternative. Just take 28 North to Linton Hall Road. There you can pick up from step 4 in the section "Special Directions for those coming from south of Potomac Mills".

That's fine. If you don't make it, I don't have to worry about facing the consequences.

Just a note that an updated version went out tonight. I'll continue to maintain it, so let me know if you find errors or if you need your info added to the list.

Just be aware that this stretch of I-66 is under construction and is subject to extreme delays - especially during the Friday afternoon rush hour.

Chris

xtopher, thanks for proxying with direction help while I was gone. I meant to warn about construction but forgot.

EVERYONE! Please watch the road signage carefully, some of the construction has made them hard to see and/or give you short notice. I-66 on Friday nights can be a bear. Be aware that you might want to give an exter 30-40 mintues for that stretch of construction.

Does every address in Virginia have two completely different ways to get there? I have the same deal with my cousin in Alexandria.

I sent Steve some directions from the hotel to our house that goes thourgh that way. Hopefully he'll send out an update with that info.

Basically, you trun onto University Blvd which is the entrance to Sheffield Manor development. You actually stay straight on Univeristy all the way to Edmonston. I think those other roads were planned but never built that way and the map data is screwed up (it give my TomTom GPS fits too).

Update went out tonight. This will most likely be the last update, since tomorrow night will have me in Baltimore, where it'll be a bit more difficult for me to maintain and send out a new version.

I still love all the "New" and "Future" roads in your area.

Though it's confusing as heck!

No kidding. Don't ever ask me about Chain Bridge Road either... The best if Future Linton Hall Road... It's a few hundred feet long and basically just the loop into our development on the "front" side... ??? <shrug>
