You're right Neenahboy. I don't regret it. I'm halfway through Season One (courtesy of Netflix) and am completely hooked. I watched the last two disks straight through in one sitting, four episodes per disk.

I did S1 through Netflix, too, but then I realized that I was tired of waiting for each individual disc, so I said, "Nuts to this!" and bought them all

I ended up getting them for $29 a season at Amazon when they had some special the other week. Add the $50 discount for buying 6 TV seasons from The WB (along some other shows I picked up), and I'll have it down to almost $20 a season.

Not bad for something I've already seen and don't know when I'll be able to watch the whole thing again

Love the show and dialog though. And Lauren Graham.

I just sent my rebate in yesterday. Wonder if I'll get the chance to take advantage of it again before 6/30 (rebate end date).

Wow, I wish I loved it that much. I might have shot myself after a marathon like that. Well, I've just gotten into South Park after hating it for years, so maybe there's hope.

I noticecd that as well. As a Christmas episode, they're airing it out of order, on the 21st I think, to place it closer to the holiday. I debated whether to wait or try to BitTorrent the episode or just go ahead and watch. I couldn't wait and just ended up skipping that episode and will watch that one out of order. No biggie. At least they are goign to show it.

Thanks, I downloaded that one out of a season torrent, because it wasn't the guide when I looked for it. I'll be happy to get it from ABC so it matches my other episodes when I make a DVD.

Gilmore Girls is wonderful...and so are the DVD sets. As of this month, they are "caught up" to live TV, i.e. Season 5 is out while Season 6 is still airing. The show is VERY rewatchable, every one seems fresh even when I've seen it several times. Seasons 1-4 also have the "Gilmorisms" booklets that explain some of the more obscure references; it's a shame they didn't do it for Season 5 and instead send you to a website with them.

You know, I'm really not understanding why ABCFam pulled this episode to air closer to Christmas and held it to air on 12/23 when it's established in the episode itself that Emily's Christmas Party is EARLY and Christmas is two weeks away!

But thanks guys for discussing it in this thread beforehand, because otherwise it would have been really confusing. It was bad enough trying to mentally fit the episode back into its proper place in the run when I knew in advance that they had skipped it.

Another reason to buy the DVD sets

My good little fiance bought me seasons 1,2, and 3 for Christmas, and wants to know if he should predictably get me 4&5 for my birthday...Now if only I can get him to watch them too! We're going to trade seasons...a Buffy for a Gilmore...Sound fair?

I don't look like Lorelai or act like her, but I dress like she does! I keep seeing stuff she wears that I own. I'm channeling her stylist, I guess.

It is a great show, glad you found it.

You'll both be enriched by it. Two of the best shows ever.

I started watching current episodes as of this season (six), but have been catching up on DVD since late summer. I'm through season four now, awaiting number five. The show is like candy -- it's hard for me to watch just one episode. I almost always find myself finishing one and then watching at least the pre-credit intro to the next.

On a side note, I thought the consensus was the season four was a down year, perhaps the worst of the first four seasons. I enjoyed it quite a bit (much more than I am liking season six so far, for what it's worth). Of the first four, I think I would rank them: three, two, four, one. I have heard good things about season five and am looking forward to getting started.

I agree with you about the fourth season; I thought they pulled off Rory's Yale transition very well. Enjoy season five!
