how to use tivo desktop?

I have not been to this site for some time - a couple of years ago I upgraded the hard drive in my Sony T60 to 120 gb and installed extreme 2.5 - which has worked great,I just sold it last week and I just purchased a Hughes HDVR2 Series 2 DTV Receiver. It came with 6.2 installed and a bigger hard drive installed. I just hooked it up to my home network with a wired network adapter(Startech USB1100S) and I am able to see songs and pictures from my computer. I downloaded TIVO desktop but I can not see my recordings. I have been reading for days but can not find out how to make this feature work or even if it will work. I appreciate your patience with this "newbie question"

Thanks Doug

You can see songs and pictures? And the network adapter works?? This is a hacked unit I take it? By default the network doesn't work on any DirecTV units - and that includes TiVoToGo. But it shouldn't be recognizing the network at all, including music and photos.

I installed TIVO desktop from the TIVO site and added a few mp3's and a few pictures and then I plugged the tivo into my home network - as soon as I went into the music and photos menu on my TIVO I could see them and play them. The guy I bought this from said he used the "zipper" and "TIVO tweaks". And Ideas how to see my recordings?

Ah - you might try over in the hacks forum. I'm pretty sure you can get your recordings off the box, but not with normal TiVoToGo. I think you'd use FTP or HTTP, depends on the hack.
