The Sopranos!

Ok hasn't happened yet, but how else are they going to end it?

Huh? Ok, Next Generation, sort of - they did blow up two alternate reality sets of crews, but that doesn't really count... and I don't get how Voyager even is brought up, the only character they killed off was the future Janeway, as I recall.

Wasn't it three sets: past, present and future? Though I agree it doesn't count.

Maybe that was just a case of wishful thinking.

Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
The difference between Buffy and Angel was always that Buffy had a more specific, finite mission. Angel's mission was a more nebulous and ongoing one. Buffy's quest was thrust upon her - it was her destiny, and she fulfilled it. Angel chose his own quest (once that pesky soul was implanted in him). The real battle is never-ending. Sure, Buffy closed the Sunnydale Hellmouth. But, as Giles mentioned, there's another one in Cleveland. Angle didn't just fight a battle, he triggered a war. His final line was perfect, "Well, personally, I kind of want to slay the dragon. Let's get to work."

That's a great perspective that I hadn't thought of before. It does make sense in that context. It helps me feel better about it, LOL.

However, just as a viewer, I did feel let down because of I was really expecting more resoultion. I know Angel's battle hadn't ended, but a plateau would have been nice (especially since Borneaz has said he won't come back to the character unless it was for a feature film - which is unlikely for a very long time).

No, they knew; like Alias they announced it early in the season to give them time to wrap it up. I guess that's why I was disapointed, because they had hyped up the fact they were going to end it and that they knew way ahead of time.

Oh well. Still love all 11.5 seasons of the Buffyverse, even if Angel didn't end as I would have liked. I have a feeling I will also be more forgiving of the Angel finale once new Buffyverse makes it to my screen, in whatever form.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't know how it will end, but I suspect it will go out in a blaze of glory.

I just grabbed it off my shelf. It's called "Blakes 7: Afterlife" by Tony Attwood
ISBN 0 426 19924 3. It's older that I thought.

If you can't find it anywhere and you want spoliers, PM me and I will try glace back over the book and give you the plot.

Space: Above and Beyond

I thought it was a very good show about space marines doing their jobs fighting invading aliens and trying to live through everything.

However, it didn't get block buster ratings so the network suits canned it after one short season. The writers and actors got the last laugh, though, because they wrote the ending of the series so that most of the characters died. It was pretty obvious they were all upset with the network about the cancellation.

There was a TV show on Fox a few years back called Action that ended its run on Fox with the main character dying in an ambulance and the paramedics robbing his corpse. However, in the full run of the series (13 eps.) that eventually ran on FX, and will soon be released on DVD, he was revived and the series lived on.

Not entirely certain if that counts. I don't imagine it really would.

I was going to say soap too. Since I'm a youngin I watched soap in reruns out of order and kept watching and watching waiting to see if Jessica was shot or not! Found out years later that was the last episode!
