Yes, it's another thread. Yes, it's about DC Sunday Brunch.

Well. The voting is neck and neck. Two people who originally voted for the CCSP have changed their minds and now want to go to the Ft. Meyer Officers' Club. And that includes me. And I hold the power.

I'm going to try to sell you on this, so hang on. I adore the CCSP, but I think the Ft. Meyer Officers' Club is a unique opportunity to have brunch in a neat place. The OC is not far from the hotel, and not everyone can get in to eat there (er, that is, regularly--every TCFer will get in with me on Sunday). Ft. Meyer is up on the top of a large hill, and offers some pretty nice views of the surrounding area.

The catering people at FMOC seemed quite accomodating, and we will have an entire room to ourselves (the Campaign Room) for our dining pleasure. While there's no specific menu available online, I imagine it's good stuff.

I know there's an element of "pick a place and get it over with," but I'm willing to front the effort and the cash to get us into the Ft. Meyer Officers' Club on Sunday, August 14. It's not really much of an additional hassle to get there than anywhere else, and I think it will be really durn cool.

So, that said, who's coming to FMOC? I want to make a reservation by Tuesday, so prompt decisions are certainly appreciated.

We'll go where the masses go, but I voted for FMOC for 10AM, but that was just because we have a seven hour drive ahead of us after brunch. But again, we will follow the masses as far as where and what time.

I'm in. I pulled the trigger on the other place before this option got serious, so I am not above changing my mind. Thanks for all the effort, Deak!

I voted for the Officer's Club. Again.

It's not that the other option doesn't sound good. This is just such a unique opportunity to get somewhere you normally wouldn't have access to. The staff sounds very accomodating and being able to have a reservation, in our own room, just seals the deal for me.

Thanks deak!

Retired from what service? Never knew you were in. I went through college on an AF scholarship but through odd cirsumstances never served. Dad and sis are both retired Army officers. Brother was reserve officer.

Well didn't retire. Got out as part of the force reduction back in the early nineties. Staff Sargent USAF.

I'll be driving so I have room for 3 or 4. The TSX is pretty cozy in the back so the 3 in the back best be close friends

I voted for the place, but not the time, b/c I didn't care either way about the time.

I suppose I could have voted for both too.

I declare victory and vote for FMOC , of course, time not relevent to me. Menu not listed but is generally the following.

Salad of all kinds
Omelets to order.
Eggs
Bacon
sausage
sausage gravy
Potatoes
Roast Beef,
Various lunch side dishes
Bread table
Biscuits
Belgian Waffles,
Fruit
Pasta cooked to order
Giant dessert table.
Coffee
Tea
OK
Champagne

Sometimes a few news things but you can count on the above unless it has changed in the last 4 months since I was last there in the spring with my Dad and Mom and sister.

I believe Deaklet was trying to get a rough count; that's why I questioned why the total count of people voting is so much higher than the sum total of the votes for OC and for the CCSP -- are people just voting for a time but aren't planning to come to brunch?

I think they voted for more than one time if it did not matter to them.
