SVR-2000 Hard Drive Noise - Help

I recently received an SVR-2000. I enjoy TiVo, but the constant whine of the hard drive is annoying. Can the hard drive be set to turn off when the unit is powered down or in stand by? I don't need it to constantly record.

Thanks for any help you can offer

Nope, your best bet is to replace it with a low nose drive. My drive of choice is Samsung Spinpoint drives, which when installed in an S1 TiVo, is barely perceivable.
