Image Retention

I don't have any burn-in, but I do frequently have temporary (a hour-ish) image retention problems with the TiVo menus, especially when I'm playing music in HMO and forget to turn off the TV. The brightness does seem to dim after some amount of time, but the timer is not short enough to prevent retention. Seems like a simple, menu-activated screensaver (like the TiVo guy, as someone else pointed out) would be a simple addition. My DVD player has it, and I bought it in 1999, so it can't be that hard to do. I'd really prefer to reduce the number of near-heart attacks I have every time I realize the TiVo has been static for twenty minutes....

C'mon TiVo-- help us out!

Matt

Wink

I would also like a screen saver mode or possibly slide show of pictures that could be tivo resident. For dlp (Digital Light Processing) set owners burn in is not an issue because it is a solid state chip, not a picture tube. Bulb life is an issue and I for one would not waste my bulb life on a screen saver. I read a prior post of someone pausing tivo, you can still turn tv off and return and turn on set and still be at your pause point.
