TC-Con '06 Preference Poll for June

There are 3 polls posted, one each for June, July, and August. Please repond in all 3 polls, and check the week(s) that you would prefer to attend.

If you can attend all weeks, please check ALL the weeks for that particular month. If you don't care which week it is, please check "Don't care"

Thanks!

This is the JUNE Poll

Don't care. It's so far out, there is no way for me to know for sure that some particular week won't work for me for some weird reason. Right now, I should have the flexibility to go whenever.

Same.... Don't care.

Better to pick a date first so that I can plan around it.

First week isn't particularly great for me. Other than that, it shouldn't be a problem. But we should look at when TiVos thing in NY is so we don't force Pony (if he's gracious enough to attend the Con again) to have to fly out to NY on a redeye after talking to us yet again.

Not a bad idea Steve... Probably the only problem is that he might not know this until after we need to firm up a date.

Also, we need to find a date so that he can get ALL of us into the Kitchen Table at Emerill's.

I would prefer Jun over the other months. So I checked the rates at the Flamingo since it was one of the suggested hotels. for each week. Not sure if we don't do a group rate if we can negotiate these rates or if they will adjust within the next few monthes.

Flamingo
Jun 4-7 $120.00
Jun 11-14 $139.00
Jun 18-21 $109.00
Jun 25-29 $159.00

Few more data points. Many hotels don't even go out to June Yet.

Caesars
Jun 4-7 $180.00
Jun 11-14 $160.00
Jun 18-21 $160.00
Jun 25-29 $160.00

TI
Jun 4-7 $159.00
Jun 11-14 $99.00
Jun 18-21 $99.00
Jun 25-29 $89.00

MGM (Rate varies throughout the week, high posted)
Jun 4-7 $210.00
Jun 11-14 $190.00
Jun 18-21 $150.00
Jun 25-29 $160.00

The room rates are still a little high right now since the dates are all so far away. Usually, as you draw within 6 months of your check-in date, the rates become substantially lower.. at least, that's been my personal experience with Vegas room rates.

They problably are higher because they have blocks on rooms, once the blocks of rooms are released, the price will lower do to supply, which if we aren't going to do a group rate, it probably is not worthwhile to try and pick a hotel for another few monthes.

June 19-25 sounds good so all the teachers can come and the people that have kids can find baby sitters.

I have the same thing that stopped me from going this year is the last weekend of June and I would need a buffer of a week either way.

I know it is not about me but had to put in my .02 while I could.

I like that 19-23 so far out of all the dates.

It seems to be a bit cheaper. It's not the beginning of a month, or the end of a month, kids would be out of school...

So far that's a keeper for me.

Can we declare a close to this poll for a date in the not too distant future so we can have an official date and start planning?

I know Skittles volunteered to head this up, and I along with several others offered to help, though I'm not sure how much of the load Skittles will be up for after the fire. But we probably should get the planning started soon.

I say we add the "Don't Care" to the 6/26-30 votes and declare that a winner.

Seriously, anyone who hasn't voted, consider 6/26-30 so Miro and her husband can join in the fun in Vegas.

I would also prefer the later weekends in June vs the early. Hope we get a date soon as my free week in Vegas planning window is shrinking; I would hate to be in Vegas and miss you guys for the second year in a row.
