No spoilers because there is nothing to watch - whine

My TiVo is empty! There is nothing to watch on TV!

What am I going to do tonight?

Those on the east coast, did you find anything good to watch you can share with us west coasters?

How frustrating.

Does the hiatus end next week or the week after? You're right, it's very frustrating.

It's horrible. I have, however, been using the time to catch up on DVD watching, having accumulated a number of them in the past year but not having the time to watch most of them.

I just recently finished all the episodes of "Freaks and Geeks" -- an awesome show you should catch sometime if you can. I'm almost done with "Undeclared", a series from the creator of "Freaks and Geeks" that is, well, disappointing, but still not bad compared to most of what's found on TV these days. I also have "Point Pleasant", and there's 5 unaired episodes included that I haven't seen.

I've also now seen 5 episodes of Stargate Atantis's second half of the season as well as all 13 episodes of the second season of "Hex", thanks to Bittorrent. And have watched about 2 months of "Hollyoaks" episodes -- 3 1/2 weeks more and I'm caught up.

My To Do lists get going again beginning next week... on 1/1 Desperate Housewives has a new episode; Suirface and Las Vegas on 1/2, CSI on 1/5, Malcolm in the Middle, Close to Home, Battlestar Galactica and Masters of Horror on 1/6... then we're back to speed.

I'll keep your recommendations in mind, but it's not going to help me tonight.

I finished the book I was reading too, so I can't even do that.

It could with Bittorrent (well, that is if you have a broadband internet connection).

How did I miss that there was a second season? I must not know the good places to lurk anymore.

www.uknova.com is the best place for UK stuff, though torrents only stay around for a month, so it's more current stuff than archived stuff. www.isohunt.com is a good place to find all of Hex. Be patient with the middle 4 or 6 episodes; things get kinda boring for awhile but the last 4 or so make up for it.

I've been using the season to finally watch The Sopranos from the start, since HBO started showing an episode a day lately. The recent Sequest DSV marathon prompted me to buy the new DVDs and I also just got done watching Undeclared. Been gathering some Hex episodes to watch in one go too and the season seems over now.

Next up: The last 4 eps of Invasion that I still haven't seen, either some Earth 2 or Invasion Earth (both on DVD) and various Roman Empire documentaries that I TiVo'd when Rome was on a while back.

It looks like it's just another recap show, with no new content.

I agree! Man, this week has sucked. I have actually rented a couple of movies, which I never do. I'm currently watching some Newsradio DVDs we bought.

Mine's almost empty. We hadn't watched a single episode of Rome as of this past Saturday, but we should be all caught up with that show by this weekend.

After that, the unit is totall empty. Looking forward to some new shows.

Justpixel I live on the east cost as well and here is what I record
1) Cops
2) Mama's Family
3) Married with Children
4) Jay Leno (only 20 mins of it the rest of the show is boring unless a really good guest)
5) Street Smart (Pretty good game show)
6) PC magazine (comes on GPS, have some good information at times)
7) That '70s Show (Don't know why but Frez cracks me up)

I'm also looking for good show recommendations. I haven't had my tivo long enough for it to learn what I like. Still not clear how the 1 2 or 3 thumb rule. From what I see in the forums is everything you record gets a automatic 1 and 2 means you love it I guess 3 means you own it or something not sure.

Anyway, happy holidays and don't forget to record Regis making a fool of himself New Years Eve

Nonsense. There's still too much good stuff to watch on TV, well on Tivo. I don't watch a lot of network TV shows though, only 60 Minutes, Desperate Housewives, Alias and The Apprentice [but the season just ended].

I just watched an ep of Modern Marvels from awhile ago on snack food tech and part of another ep on the same subject. They showed the factories of and how they make candy bars, ice cream, potato chips, fried pork rinds, Krispy Kreme donuts and dough, Tootsie Rolls, soda, and so on.

The other day I watched a Nova ep on the pearl industry covering cultivation, culturing of oysters and history. Also the other day, I watched 2 eps of Secrets of the Black Box on Korean Airlines flight 007 and the Aloha Airlines jet had its top blown off. I distinctly remember that since I had to take Aloha Airlines a few months after that incident.

I've got some stuff from Travel Channel I haven't yet watched on Paris, Venice, Prague, Amsterstam, 3 cities in Russia, Central China and Germany. I've also got an ep of Biography on the group ABBA that I haven't watched yet.

I've been watching the various Armegedon Week documentaries on the History Channel. Man, people spend entirely too much time digging in the Bible, anticipating the end of the world. Apparently, you can interpret just about any Old Testament passage as a prophesy of the future. Who knew that the Biblical references to chariots were really talking about M1A1 Abrams tanks?

Our "Now Playing" list is also empty, for the first time since January, if I recall correctly. This dry period is worse than anything we experience over the summer. We actually dug into our DVD-RWs this week and watched Pieces of April and that stupid Looney Tunes movie. Blech. And our "To Do" doesn't have anything in it until NYE, itself! So we'll probably work through more of our DVD-RWs. We may even make it down to the old Queer Eye episodes we never watched. <shudder> I definitely have to be more conscientious in what I put on these DVD-RWs for our next dry-spell.

Bicker, Pieces of April? LOL That is scraping it. Is that the depressing Katie Holmes flick?

Anyway, our Tivo is also empty, except for a half dozen Zoey101 episodes my daughter has on there (apparently there was a marathon the other day.

We've watched a House rerun, a Simpson's rerun, and a (most likely) Good Eats rerun (we didn't see it in first run) this week. That's it. I've spent a lot of time working on the house.

What I don't understand is empty "Now Playing" lists. I have the entire Season so far of "Arrested Development", paltry as it is, on my HR10-250. Plus I'm going back and watching the previous Season on DVD. Maybe it's because there's so little I care for on network TV, I'm able to archive stuff I do enjoy.

Remember starting this thread, Ann? Maybe now you understand it better.

All three tivos are empty except for stuff I have on SUID. Sigh! OTOH, I am getting more use out of my Blockbuster online DVD account this month.

I'm not sure why our Now Playing is so empty -- we must be very picky about what we watch. We do record lots of programs from other-than-broadcast-network TV, but still, even this time of year, we burned through all of Rome and all of Sleeper Cell last week, and now there's nothing left to watch.

I was given a $20 Blockbuster gift card for Christmas (I normally don't rent) and I put it to use renting Saw and Team America-World Police. Both will be on cable channels sooner or later but with little else to watch, why wait? I did look at The Comedians of Comedy on Showtime Tuesday night.

Ours is not empty, mainly because the housemate records lots of BBCA "First Run & Repeats" stuff.

I just watched the Season Finale of Wanted, I see there is a new Roush Racing: Driver X and Dirty Jobs has had a few recap shows with the content changed enough to be rewatchable.
