Question "24" - Watching seasons out of order

I know we have a current 24 thread, but I don't want to open it due to spoilers.

I've watched Season one completely. My Tivo crashed during season #2 around the 6th episode and I never finshed watching it (although I just bought it on DVD). Never watched season 3, due to not finishing season 2.

I have the 4th season on Season Pass on my Tivo, but havn't watched it yet.

Now my question:

If I watched Season 4, will season 2 and 3 be spoiled? Opinion?

I can't think of anything in Season 2 that is spoiled by Season 4. However, several key events in Season 3 are spoiled at about the 8-9th hour of Season 4.

Hope that helps.

I don't know if I would call them "key events." Sure they give us some insight as to what happened in season 3 but I don't think much would be ruined because of it. It's not like the surprises in season 1.

It's still best to watch them in order though.

I can't imagine watching them out of order. I have to say that it would spoil it.

If someone is still alive in Season 4, it's a pretty good bet they don't die when they're in danger in Seasons 1-3.

Wrong. Jack died in season 3 (or 2?) for about 5 seconds!

You can watch #2 with out watching #1..... You will be a "tad" confused on why Jack is so pissed at one character....

You can watch #3 with out watching the first two, but you will lose some of the dynamics.

Same with #4... Season #4 is doing a GREAT job in bringing 24 back to what it was the first season.... Other then 1 maybe 2 characters... (so far), you wouldn't be missing much... But you will miss why all of us when crazy in one of the episodes (EP 7 wasn't it?)..

Watching Season #4 will not "spoil" the other season... It will just take some of the suspense out of some of the cliffhangers.

I disagree on that one. If you watch 2 before 1, it completely spoils the shock at the end of season 1.

I second that. If you want to maximize your 24 viewing pleasure you MUST view them in order. It is a big time commitment.

I always rave about 24 to everyone I know but I tell them that if they are interested they must watch seasons 1-3 in order.

They are easier to watch on DVD so you are set there.

Honestly do whatever you want but I think most would recommend watching them in order.

I bought seasons one and two. Loved 'em.

Haven't done 3 yet...but based on what I already know about the first two seasons, even flip-flopping THOSE would be severely jarring and spoiler-filled. I honestly can't recommend it at all.

Somone told me about the final surprise in season 1 and it was a little disappointing since I knew it the whole time. I had no idea about the other thing. That was a total shocker!

Guess you are right...

But by the same token... You should watch 1 before ANY of the other series...

Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)

I think finding out in S4 that...

Michelle is still alive
...would ruin a MAJOR section of storyline in S3. When you heard it in S4, you might not even realize it's ruined for you at the time. But when you finally go and watch S3, you'll quickly realize.

Okay...I've found where I left off on Season 2. Gee...olny made it through noon. I've got a long way to go. I'll finish watching Season 2 DVD's then buy Season 3 DVD's, then watch my Tivo'd Season 4.

Thanks for the help!

I just finished watching season 3 a few weeks ago, and am a few episodes into season 4 now...

Someone suggested I could have watched 4 without seeing 3, and I think they were right. There are large periods of time between seasons in the real world, so things change substantially. The show takes place in a single day, so there is not much change in a single season.

I think you could pretty much watch them in whatever order, a few things between 2 and 3 might run together, but it is nothing that would really spoil things for you.
