What do all you meet junkies think? How many meets it too many in one year?

Oh and there is no poll coming for those of you with enquiring minds

53.

53 would be too many. That would be more than 1/week.

Define "meet".

MattDing and Waldingrl meet more than 53 times a year, one would hope.

So those two are still getting along then? Damn. MattDing's such a cutie. Maybe someday I'll get a chance to snap him up.

Seriously?

If you're talking about "major" meets and not just a couple people getting together for dinner....

...I'll say 4. One per quarter.

Does initiating TCF friends into the "famiglia" count as a major, or minor meet? Or do they have to be made, not just connected?

I'll agree with Inigo: Four. One per quarter. Any more than that is just crazy talk.

If you have to leave a meet early so you can make it to another meet, that's a good sign that you're a little over-meeted.

I think once a month is a good number. But really... how many times a year should you meet up with friends? As many as you can.

If you're embezzling company funds or forging checks out of your parents' or significant other's bank account or committing identity theft in order to finance trips to TCF meets, that's too many. Seek professional counseling.

Meets are self-regulating. If nobody shows up, no meet.

I don't think there's any magic number, but there are a few conflicts scheduled. I think Chicago and Philly are both in April?

Hmm, it would be nice to have a regular, regional meet schedule - like other communities - LUGs (Linux User Groups), for example. Maybe we can set up TUGs - TiVo User Groups. :-)

Do the Linux Users Groups sit around and talk about Linux at those meets?

That's one thing about TiVo Meets. With the exception of TiVo's presence at the Con (which is AWESOME!), the meets are about the people.

Yes and no. There is usually some talk about the topic. Maybe a speaker, someone with a new tip, etc. Which would be good for new TiVo users. Q&A for people new, or maybe someone just thinking about it and looking for info (indoctrination), but there is also the social aspect of just hanging out with people who share an interest.
