New remote can't switch on my Sony TV

Hi,

I have a Sony KV-28FX60 which works fine with my original (smooth feel) TiVo remote using code 0012. I have bought two replacement TiVo remotes (rougher case feel) from different places at different times to replace the old remote as it is getting a bit unreliable. Both the new remotes can control the TV volume and mute but when they put it into standby they can't wake it up again (the original remote can)

I tried the following codes with the new remote with no luck: 0012 0018 0028 0131 0143 0204 0211 0286 0312 0313 0325 and tried adding 8000 even though the remote seems to reject the 8000 codes 8012 8018 8028 8131 8143 8204 8211 8286 8312 8313 8325.

Can anybody offer me any advice on how to get the new remotes working please?

Thanks,
Paul

Try adding 1000 ( rather than 8000 ) to the codes.

Hi Rob,

Thanks. Why did I think it was 8000? Unfortunately the 1000s don't seem to work either; They can't turn the TV off or on. Is there anything else worth trying?

Something seems to be different with the newer remotes. Does anybody have a Pronto (or similar) an old and a new remote? I would be interested to see what is the difference between the standby buttons for both of them with 0012.

Thanks,
Paul.
