Make it easy to find out why something will not be recorded

Ok, so I go into the Season Pass Manager, and I go into "Two and a Half Men". I click on "View Upcoming showings", and I see that there are two upcoming shows. One on 12/5 and one on 12/12. But neither one is going to be recorded. And I have no idea why.

It would be really helpful to know if it conflicts with some other show (which show) or those two shows are a re-run, or whatever.

I could click on "Record this episode also", but I don't want to do that if it is a rerun.

Oh, and the customersupport website is really really slow. Any link that I click on that is on customersupport.tivo.com takes at least 10 minutes to load. For comparison, it takes about 6 seconds to load www.tivo.com.

You can do that now if you go into the ToDo list and 'View Recording History' - it also goes into the future and shows you what 'Won't Record' and why.

But it might be nice if there was a direct link from the episode listing.

Also, there are situations where there won't be an entry in the (future) recording history. For example if an episode doesn't match the recording criteria of the season pass there won't be any entry explaining why it won't be recorded.

For example, with a First Run Only Season Pass reruns don't show up in the recording history because they aren't eligible to record.
Or for all Season Passes episodes on any channel other than the one the Season Pass is set to won't be listed in the recording history.

So for that type of show it might be nice to get an explanation.

(Of course it would also be nice if the reason listed in the recording history was accurate, but that is a different suggestion.)

And another thing...

It would be nice if Tivo remembered a "tree" of recordings, so that if you set it to record a show or a season, and then a recording is dropped -- say, if a different season pass is moved into a higher priority, or a particular recording of the conflicting season pass is manually dropped -- the tivo would remember which recordings the dropped show had caused to be canceled, and reinstate it...

It already does this.

Arrow And to reschedule conflicting shows

Long a pet peeve of mine . . . When you try to record a show and the TiVo tells you it will have to cancel a conflicting show to record it, I wish there was an immediate option to reschedule the show that needs to be cancelled (i.e., in addition to just accepting the cancellation or cancelling the newly requsted show, have a third option of viewing upcoming episodes of the show that needs to be cancelled). Although you can obviously reschedule the cancelled show by searching for it, or finding it in recording history or your season pass manager, I usually end up with numerous cancellations when I run through my wishlists, and, even more annoying and time-consuming, I often end up having to cancel-- and try to reschedule -- the new program when I learn that the original program does not have any other showings.

One of the great things about TiVo is that it does automatically reschedules the canceled show for you if it is repeated, unless it is a one off manual recording, so there is no need for you to go back and manually reschedule. If you are trying to schedule a show and it conflicts with a show that you don't think repeats, you have the option to decline to record it, and go back to view upcoming episodes, and try to find a time that won't conflict.

It would be nice if TiVo could tell you on the conflict screen when/if either of the shows are going to repeat in the next 2 weeks to help you make your decision.
