Note NBC Moving 'Earl', 'The Office' To Thursdays Starting In January

http://www.thefutoncritic.com/cgi/p...d=20051201nbc01

I am looking forward to The Book Of Daniel. I fear this show might come under the same backlash the excellent and unjustly cancelled ABC series Nothing Sacred did back in 1997. I hope NBC is ready for that and is willing to defend the series.

My Name Is Earl and The Office competing against CSI? Thoughts?

Woo hoo! Up until now I've been missing both these shows because they conflict with "House" on Fox, and I only have one standalone Tivo unit. Couldn't care less about "CSI" and its fifteen spinoffs.

I can't stand CSI either; I was simply taking into account the continual great ratings it and its 9,000 spin-offs get. To me, CSI is simply case after case, with no real character progression. If I'm watching a show, I want to see the characters evolve. Plus, I think it's far too gimicky. I also can't stand Seinfeld or Friends but that conversation is for another day.

Yes, I agree there's a risk that CSI could kill off "Earl" and/or "Office". That would be sad.

Let's hope people will get tired of CSI due to rampant over-exposure and tune to something else instead.

IIRC House is scheduled to move to Mondays in Jan.

Not anymore. It was going to move to Mondays at 8 ET, with Bones moving to Tuesdays at 9. But that was before Head Cases was cancelled, opening up the Wednesdays at 9 slot for Bones, and House is staying put. Also, Prison Break wasn't originally supposed to run beyond this fall, and that will be taking the 8:00 Monday slot when it returns in March.

I am moving?

And I don't like seeing: CSI will kill off Earl....

I have seen how people have died on CSI... and really don't want to know what it feels like.... yikes...

Personally, I find it quietly amusing that Will and Grace will be leading off the Thursday block. When the show started, it was on pretty much as late as they could get it, because scary and controversial topics like *gasp* gay people might not be suitable for the early evening viewers. Now, nobody thinks twice. I love it.

Of course, equally amusing, how controversial can it be when it is in constant reruns on Lifetime?

Wouldn't give you a dime for Earl or CSI. But if NBC is anything like FOX, kiss them goodbye now.
