Copying recordings to the PC

I have a network adapter hooked up to my tivo and it receives an IP address and everything. Is it possible to download shows from my TV to my computer? I am trying to put them on my laptop since I am in an airplane every weekend.

Yes, you need Tivo2Go -- here is the link
http://www.tivo.com/4.9.19.asp

Happy tivoing!

Or if it is a DirecTV DVR, you need Zipper.

Downloading a show from a DTivo to a PC is technically called extraction and is a forbidden topic on this forum.

I think we are in a transition period and that vague references to methodologies, while disapproved of, may not be as aggressively rooted out as was the case when DTV supported Tivo.

Or not.

Zipper.
Tivoserver.
Tivotool (Mac and Linux), other similar software for Wintel boxes available.
mfs_ftp insert (and the logical thought process that leads you to search for).
etc.

DTVs relationship with TiVo "failing" is of no concern to the matter. Board policy still prohibits extraction talk.

He's right in one sense. At one point in time, the entire thread on the zipper would have been deleted before it ever got 50 messages long let alone 1500.
