Seeing as I have no cooking abilities, I'd be more than willing to kick in some cash to help pay for food.

Hey Skittles,

How about putting this need list in the first post, then updating it as people sign up for something?

Ah, who am I kidding, he's never going to see this anyway. I guess this would be a bad time to tell him that I'm willing to let him show me that thing he does with his tongue.

I'm gonna need more than just one person bringing nibble snacks.

I can bring a big ol' crock pot of baked beans. Bryan's special mix.

Guaranteed to provide an explosive night.

I'll be happy to pitch in some dollars if you don't mind going to the trouble of picking stuff up. When I get there just let me know how much I owe you for me and the Mrs.

Thanks,
tk

I don't know how many munchies we need, I don't know if McKee is coming.

hhm. Unfortunately, I'm probably not going to be able to bring much on the plane with me, but I'd be more than happy to help chip in some $$$ toward catering or help chip in with someone local for something fun and exciting.

As for vegetarian stuff, am I the only one in attendance? If that's the case, don't worry about it, I can find stuff to eat no matter what. =)

I'd like to bring a couple of things I learned from my Tivo.

Rick Bayless' Tomatillo/Garlic salsa

Alton Brown's '3 chips for Sister Marsha' chocolate chip cookies, chewy version. My kids are always beggin me to make these.

With mexican cheese dip, guacomole, and my salsa, we're gonna be needing lots of chips. I'll bring a couple of big bags.

You just have to keep rubbing that in, don't you? I finally get to go to a meet, and you're avoiding it like the plague.

You do have a wife, right? And a child?

/puts shoulder around Ebenezer

Let's have a talk... hehe
remember that thing called 'sex'? I still have the silly notion that once the child is born, I'll be able to have it once again... Yes, I'm delusional, but I'm still holding out hope, dammit!

heh

Oh yes, I remember that waiting game. Thankfully, I wait no longer.

But, still, quit rubbing salt in the wound, mister.

Actually, can you cover the veggie trays and some veggie dip? Or some of the snacks?

OK gang, some friends of the family offered to do all the cooking and preparation of our barbecue, provided that I supply them with all the meat.

(waits for the innuendo to die down)

David and Sheila are going to handle cooking our brisket and sausage, and we'll also have some barbecue chicken available for the folks who don't like red meat. There will be sammich fixins' as well. David and Sheila are both awesome cooks, and it'll help me cut down on costs, so I jumped on the idea.

So, when y'all meet David and Sheila next weekend, tell 'em what you think of the food.

Yes. Everyone will still need to bring their assigned dishes. David and Sheila will only be handling the meat.
