Want to Host a Xbox 360 Pre-release Gathering in DFW?

If you haven't been following the Xbox 360 thread over in the Happy Hour, I was fortunate enough to win a 360 in Pepsi's EveryTenMinutes.com promotion.

Per the contest rules, I expect to have the Xbox 360 in my possession on Saturday, November 19th. This is four days before the retail release of it. I should receive a "Party in a Box" sometime this week that has 5 hats and 5 t-shirts for anyone that may attend. I plan on bringing these with me and only want a single t-shirt for myself.

I do not have a large screen tv nor the space to host people that might be interested in seeing the 360. Depending on what is in stores prior to the release, I have pre-paid for Call of Duty 2, Tiger Woods 2006, and Project Gotham Racing and hope to have them when I receive the 360. I'm also getting Madden 2006 free with the 360. I already bought one of the wired 360 controllers, so I'll have at least two on hand (not sure if it comes with more than one).

If you live in the DFW area, and are interested in hosting a handful of us at your place, please let me know.

Gamespot has an article today that Kameo has shipped and is in some customers hands. PGR 3 and Perfect Dark may ship by week's end. Looks like there's going to be some games available early.

BTW, would you consider Hagerstown, MD for hosting you party?

Sounds like my Party in a Box is waiting for me at the DFW UPS office. They tried to deliver it this afternoon, but no one was home. I'm going to swing by the office on the way home from school.

If anyone is REALLY interested, I'll take a copy photos of the contents and post them in this thread.

Here you go. I didn't resize the photos, so if you're on dialup these aren't too friendly for you. Its been a long day. I might re-size them tomorrow. I made it to the UPS station at 9:07 pm (they close at 9:00 pm, I made it from UT Dallas to the west side of DFW Airport in 20 minutes). The guy in there was nice enough to unlock the door for me and get my package.

Well, right now I want to hold on to them for anyone that may attend a pre-launch gathering. That being said, make me an offer I can't refuse and I'm willing to listen.

Awesome. You totally need to wear that shirt the day the XBOX 360 is released and just wander into various stores that are selling it.

Dear Mountain Dew (A PEPSI Product) drinking Consumer,

Congratulations on drinking caffiene straight, er we mean, Mountain Dew (A PEPSI Product). Oh yeah, and winning a Xbox 360 too. Here is a IV kit to install into your arm that will allow you to directly ingest our flagship product, Mountain Dew (A PEPSI Product), into your system. We have also included several Mountain Dew (A PEPSI Product) T-Shirts, Mountain Dew (A PEPSI Product) hats, and an extra Mountain Dew (A PEPSI Product) IV kit for your friends.

We are not sure what an Xbox 360 is, but as long as you are drinking more Mountain Dew (A PEPSI Product), we are satisfied that our $400 has been well spent.

Thank you and have a good Mountain Dew (A PEPSI Product) day,

Pepsi Management

Well, up to this point no one has volunteered to host a mini-gathering at their place.

I have the go-ahead from my wife to have a handful of people over at our house in Grapevine. I plan on inviting some non-TCF people, so I'm estimating that three of four people would be the most I could invite from TCF.

I hope to have the 360 delivered by UPS early that day since I live so close to the airport. I'm thinking 3:00 or 4:00 pm would be a good time to allow plenty of time for it to be delivered. I'll have some Shiner Bock on hand, and perhaps we could have some pizza delivered later that evening (I doubt I'll want to throw any food on the grill).

If you live in DFW and are interested in attending, send me a PM. Unfortunately due to the limited number of people I can host, I may have to pick and choose first based on who I've met before.

If you haven't followed the 360 thread over in the HH, I picked up Project Gotham Racing 3 yesterday. I was told that Call of Duty 2 will be in Friday, so it looks like I'll have three different games for Saturday.

Damn, I just found this site today.
I did a search for tivo+xbox 360. How did your party go? I just got my 360 today, took off work to game all day. So whats up with the remote having live tv and all the other tivo functions? Have you figured anything out about it?

OH, I have another question, are you familar with tivo2go? If so.. is it possible to transfer some shows to my 360?
