Low vision TIVO user issues

Low vision TIVO user issues..... If this should be in the hack subforum please let me know and I will repost.

As you can imagine from the subject line, I am a low vision TIVO user since the SVR 2000 came out. We love our TIVO even though some features of TIVO are a bit difficult to use comfortably. Some of these problems are listed below. Some possible ideas or "wish list" solutions follow. If anyone has suggestions or ideas that would be great.

• Fonts in the on screen guide are too small
• Background in the on screen guide is not solid black so the picture bleeds through effecting differentiation and contrast.
• Extensive searching becomes tedious as I have to use a monocular to read the menus etc….
• Banner disappears too soon for me to read what is on ….

Some Ideas / dreams I have

• More font control especially on the on screen display.
• Background control program guide.
• Better Banner control
• The ability to have TIVO speak menu content
• Real control of my TIVO and all of its features from my computer.
• Is anything available in the secret menus of the backdoors?

I am probably not the only one out there with this problem and I realize that at best we are a small notch group of users, but….. some solutions would make TIVO use more enjoyable.
