Large screw-on rubber feet

I need to raise a wooden chair by about an inch. I think my best bet for this is to use some large, screw-on rubber feet.

I can't find them on the web catalogues for B&Q, etc, and web searches throw up a few suppliers of small ones, but not ones that are 25-30mm high.

Any concrete pointers for sources?

30mm is very tall for rubber feet, but if you try searching in, say, Froogle for "door stop" you may get a 'possible' such as >
http://froogle.google.co.uk/froogle...scoring=p&hl=en

For "rubber feet" my search engine tuned up www.rubberfeet.co.uk at the top of the page. They seem to go up to 25mm - although they are wholesalers and may not be minded to point you in the direction of a retailer.

I was expecting a site with a selection of prosthetic feet.

If I found the right one and it was to be a permanent fitting, I think I would add glue while screwing it on.

You can get specific feet that raise furniture by the sort of amount you are looking at.

A friend of mine is unfortunately not well and due to reduced mobility uses a set of blocks that raise his sofa by a couple of inches. Theses are designed exactly for this purpose so are secure, but are not permenantly fixed to the sofa. It makes it a lot easier for him.

You might want to try one of the mobility shops/websites

That's a great idea, John - thanks. I should have thought of it myself - my father had a similar device under his armchair when he was recovering from a bropken leg earlier this year.

His was a bit nasty looking, but I guess there might be nice ones available.
