Using cable input on HR10-250

If I understand things correctly, the HR10-250 has a ATSC OTA tuner in it, which would be fine for locals if I could get them OTA.

On my cable feed I get local HD feeds on 18.1 corresponds to would be 4.1 OTA (mapped from UHF 35) and other HD local feeds.

If I plugged the cable feed into the antenna port, would I be able to use the HR10-10 to tune 18.1?

If so, can I somehow tell the box to map OTA listings for channel 4.1 to it?

I don't understand the difference between ATSC and QAM tuners and I suspect it's that difference that will not allow what I want to do to happen.

If this could/should work, then I'm going to open a HR10-250 that's been sitting here since Christmas. But don't want to keep it if I can't get locals without using an OTA antenna.

Thanks.

And that is the difference that will make this impossible. QAM modulation is quite different from 8VSB modulation. The HR10 includes 8VSB demodulation, but would not know what to do with QAM. There are a few cable systems that actually use 8VSB, but very few. It's a longshot, but you could ask. Even if that worked, it probably would not mesh with guide info, so unattended recording would be difficult.
