DTV Likes Me.....They Really Like Me!!

Got a mailing today from DTV. It came in a cool looking silver envelope and on the outside of the envelope it said: "So, this is what the limelight feels like." On the inside they gush about how great of a customer I am and they give me my own DTV card. The card has my name, customer since date, and DTV account number on it and a "special" customer service number that will allow me the benefits of priority attention. It even says that if I have a problem that they can't fix over the phone they will send a technician out that day to fix the problem if I call before Noon. All in all I'm enjoying being one of their "best customers" as they say twice in the letter. Ok, I'm done bragging, but what I was wondering is if anyone else got this mailing from DTV.

Shannon

Can you call and tell them that your HR10-250 doesn't have the 6.2 update and see if they can send someone out? If they do come out please send them my way next.

Presorted bulk rate? That's a sure sign that you're special.

You mean like how if the envelope says "Important" it really means "If your time is important to you just throw this right into the trash"?

I have been a customer since Oct 1998, I think they are doing it for loyalty and amount spent each month.

I got it last week too. Said I had been a customer since 9/03. I assume it has to do with the fact that I regularly pass my paycheck directly to them for sports programming.

Here's my problem...

Love TiVo...Not happy about not getting 6.2.....Got Verizon FIOS for internet, and Texas just approved franchise agreements for FIOS TV...If I'm gonna eventually lose TiVo may as well go with fiber huh?

DTV...what have you done for me lately? ooooh oooooh ooooh yeah

I got my card in the mail about 2 weeks ago, shortly after they came and installed my new HR10-250. Don't remember when I joined, but it's been quite a number of years and always at the top subscription package. I'm sure it's just a ploy to make us all feel warm and welcomed inside...

Either that or they are getting ready to spank us with some large price increases and want to make sure that we feel special before they kill us with it.

I used the number on the card several days ago. First the recorded message said esp. long wait time, but then a human answered w/i about 30 sec. I was calling about the overdue rebate stuff. The CSR teaeted me very well, credited my account for the $100 and told me I could cash the check if it ever came. Thanked me for being an excellent customer. I feel I really got good service.

Yep! I got mine, I called the number to find out about my rebate request on the HR10-250, the lady very politely told me they hadn't received it even though it was mailed on the 21st of September. Mailing me another form to start the process all over again. I will definitely send it Certified, Return Receipt Requested this time. The only benefit to the special phone number appears to be quicker contact with a CSR.

After 8 weeks my rebate had not arrived. I called the DirecTV customer retention number, and I was told they never received my rebate form.

I asked the CSR to place a $100 credit on my account instead of my having to resubmit the rebate paperwork. She asked permission from a supervisor and then agreed to credit my account.

I haven't gotten a notice, but we've just moved so if they sent it out bulk mail it probably went to the circular file. I notice my package listing on DirecTV.com has an entry that says just, "To Our Valued Customers". Does that indicate this "special" status?
