Digital Rights Management pertains to video files on the internet (for example I pay a fee to be able to d/l and watch sales training videos) but they only work as long as your membership is valid. You have to put your membership and password in a nag screen at the beginning of the video and it goes to a server to check your membership. If its current you proceed, if not you can't view the video. My question is, if you transfer your vids to the tivo would they still work? Also when is TivoToGo supposed to be released? Would that allow me to transfer video from my computer to the tivo? thanks!!
If you managed to transfer videos to the TiVo, they certainly would not participate in any DRM, and any method of doing such transfer would require that the video be in an unrestricted format to begin with (MPEG2).
TiVoToGo is supposed to be coming this fall. It would not provide transfer of video from PC to TiVo, from what I read.
