Official 2005 Academy Award watching thread ***SPOLIERS***

OK. Here is this years official thread for wacthing the 2005 Academy Awards. Spoilers will be here..

Discuss everything and anything. Who looks hot. Who looks like a mess. How funny or unfunny Chris Rock is. Will Jamie Foxx get the expected golden statue for his portrayal of Ray Charles?

My kind of thread!

Hilary Swank was poured into that blue dress. Sexiest gown there, even though she's covered from neck to ankle.

Chris Rock looks really sharp in that tux.

Too bad the monologue is sucking big time.

Here we go...

The first of the new "twists" in the show. Get all the nominees up on the stage first.

Watching the Oscars? **spoilers**

I actually found Chris Rock funny in the opening. Perhaps he should tone himself down more often.

Oh, looky, all the nominees already on the stage. Will they all hold hands as Halle opens the envelope? How very Miss America.

Well.

I saw this train wreck once. A freighter decided to derail, all of its propane tanks exploded, and the conductor got out alive only because he was thrown 50 feet by the explosion. Forests in the area were uninhabitable for years, and the tracks melted into the ground damaging local economy for years until they could be repaired.

That train wreck was better than Chris Rock's performance.

That ruins the reason anyone's watching. I thought about Tivo'ing it just to hope to see a train wreck. Otherwise, it's all pompous circumcision to me (er, pomp and circumstance).

It's unfortuneate I haven't seen any of the movies for Art Direction. But, from what I saw, I liked Finding Neverland and the Aviator the best. Series of Unfortuneate Events comes in a close second.

Renee Zelleweger does not look good as a brunette.

Apparently they're not making the actors get up on stage and hold hands.

I agree. He was good and I was skeptical going into it. He may be a brilliant comedian, but the few times I've listened to him, I didn't care all that much for his language.

But he did well!

OK, first award - lining all the nominees up like a firing squad and then picking the winner? Huh???

Yeah, but... the Gap and BR are owned by the same company. Oh, wait, maybe that does work!

I love Clint's big green bowtie.

Boy, they better not have an earthquake and have those giant monitors on the ceiling come crashing down on half of Hollywood's finest.

They're going for different award presentation formats this year. Some will even be presented from the aisles.

You know, I'd be happy if no one ever made another dress that's tight fitting until it hits the knees. People look so dumb in those.
