advance warning or am I the only one this is happening to?

New to tivo and I was going through my to do list for next week since I am going on vacation and found it odd that LOST was not set to record even though I have a sp and every other episode has been recorded. I then went to check my sp and the titles of the episodes are exactly the same and it seems because of this Tivo would not record this episode also? (any other reason I am missing, I have no conflicts) I know setting my tivo to record repeats also would take care of this but with them playing repeats on Saturday I do not want to take up the space with a weeks worth of recording set to go.

Just wondered if this was happening to anyone else and does this happen often with TIVO?

Did I imagine this, or did Walt's father just shout out a quote from Star Wars. He was with Jin on the raft and he yelled something like "No, this one goes there ... THAT one goes there." I thought this sounded like the exact quote from Star Wars when Han and Chewie woere working on the Millenium Falcon. Am I right? Or do I just have Star Wars on the brain due to tonight's release?

That was a great episode! All stories finally got going, of course only to cliffhang next week. Saywer finally showing Jack he is human after all was a nice touch.

I thought this was one of the better episodes. We now know that Kate did really get her 1st love killed, not just shot. Great scene where Sawyer finally told Jack about his Dad. Made me almost like Jack; I'm a Sawyer fan. And great goodbye scene with the Corean couple. Does anyone else besides me see fireworks coming up between Locke and the French (former) babe?

Great episode!

For some weird reason, the more I watch Lost, the more I want to go back and replay Myst and Riven.

This was one of the best hours of TV this season. Awesome episode... made me mist up at several points.

Do Australian cabinet ministers really routinely hang out in bars, where they can get into fights with people like Sawyer? If so, awesome.

As I was closed-captioning Jin and Sun's goodbye scene (not that there was much to caption), all I could think about was how Sun's fingernails looked surprisingly good for someone who's been on an island for months without easy access to the services of a manicurist.

Incedible. This show could stand by itself as a season finale. Can't wait to see what they have in store for us next week.

Could the black rock be perhaps a slave ship that ran aground? For some reason that was the first thing that came to mind. Great episode though. Can't wait till next week.....

One thing that I just thought of while watching this episode---doesn't Hurley know Sawyer's real name? He made a big deal out of the fact that Ethan didn't appear on the plane's manifest---the name "Sawyer" certainly didn't appear either...

Fanfreakingtastic! it is all coming together nicely.

I like how they have finally admitted that some characters such as Sawyer and Jack are linked and how they went more in depth showing various other characters linking together like Sayid and Shannon.

I didn't see the black rock coming, I'm glad that they finally revealed it but what the hell is it?

We learned a little more about Kate which I though was good. I didn't see her getting tricked into that robbery by the marshall so that was a nice twist.

A couple things bugging me and intruiging me after tonight's show:

1. Anyone else notice Walt was watching Power Rangers at the hotel? I thought that show was long gone for years now, anyone else find this significant?

2. Why was Artz being so rude to Hurley? he definently seemed to have a chip on his shoulder with Hurley and he was acting erratic such as when he all the sudden wanted to turn around and leave the quest. I just thought all of this was odd and didn't see it as comic relief. Anyone else think this?

The end was very touching, and watching it I can't help but feel as though we are losing part of the Lost crew which we've come to like. I thought it was great watching everyone say their goodbyes.

They definently hinted a lot toward the discovery of another island possibly with more survivors, I think the flashback with Jack and the other lady at the airport bar was a pretty big hint to this.

My biggest complait is that we didn't really see any of the 'Others" tonight but I assume it is all coming to that next week.

Is it Wednesday yet?!

Why was one (maybe both) of the Koreans males hands in a handcuff? He was at the airport without cuffs on right?

Sorry I missed the first half of the season.

male hair/beard grooming on the island is great

i didn't notice sun's nails, but locke's buzz-cut is surprisingly well groomed for having been on the island for a month (yes he is bald, but the rest of his hair is shaved down close -- all the time).

jack, sawyer, and the drummer from driveshaft seem to have perma-six-o-clock shadows -- reminiscent of charlie from party of five.

the beards are pretty unimpressive for the fellas of black rock.

Now this week, I actually do need a torrent. Since btf is down, any suggestions (either in the thread or through PM)?

Good Scenes:
- Sawyer/Jack
- Jin/Sun
- everybody says goodbye

Weak Scenes:
- Marshal/Kate (purely expository; and I still don't understand why he needed five guns)
- Boone and sis (unnecessary scene)
- Anything with Arzt in it (that character was inserted for a reason, obviously, but it's going to take some time before he feels like anything but a redshirt)

We learned:
- the Black Rock is an old ship
- black smoke signifies that the Others are coming (how polite)
- the name of another passenger, Anna-Lucia

Things that continue to annoy me:
- Danielle. Every time she's on screen I can't help but think of the writers pulling her strings--how much information should we release through her and how much should we have her withhold. It's too easy to rely on that plot device.
- Jin's handcuff. Handcuff locks are among the easier locks to pick. Maybe he just like the bracelet.
- Everytime it feels like something is about to happen... the show ends. I really wish this had been a single season show! (It's still the show I most look forward to every week, though.)

Earlier in the season, Jin thought Michael (the black guy) was flirting with Sun. They had been looking at each other b/c Michael knew that Jin spoke english. Anyway, a fight ensued and to calm him down, they handcuffed him to part of the fuselage. They later shot off the cuffs, but they dont have the keys to remove the bracelet.

Hope this helps

Doug

On thing that just hit me: the actor that plays Boone gets paid for another episode. Good for him.

I remember it differently. Jin discovered that Michael was wearing a watch that belonged to Jin (he was to deliver it to some unsavory criminal type in San Fransico). Jin started beating the crap out of Michael and was then restrained by cuffing him to something. Later, after Sun told Michael about the watch, he returned it (he had found it in the wreckage and didn't know who it belonged to); then he chopped the chain between the cuff bracelets with an ax.

I assumed that was why you knew the new guy's name was spelled "Arzt" and not "Artz" as both TV Tome and IMDB have it spelled.

But, hey!!!

That means you got to see the episode, what? Two Weeks early??!!
