Sky radio channel renumber

Ages ago, Sky told us that there would be a major reshuffle of the EPG in the autumn, with radio channels being renumbered to start with 0, thus making them inaccessible to TiVo's automatic channel change system.

New software was downloaded to my box which reflected this, putting a little loud speaker on the screen when a channel number began with 0 (and new Sky remotes have a loud speaker on the 0 key).

I haven't heard anything more about this - anyone know what's happened?

The first stage of the EPG renumbering is planned for the second-half of January.

I have noticed an increase in the number of duff channel changes recently despite having the rf2Link gadget plugged into the back of TiVo,(probably 40% of recordings are duff ), and the loudspeaker symbol precedes the vast majority of duff changes.

I have a Panasonic TU-DSB30 but I haven't taken delved into the system menus for donkey's years so I haven't noticed any software updates.

Maybe this update is the beginning of the end.

My channel changes are as reliable as they have always been 100%

I would say you have inherited some other infrared interferrance recently!

Not that you need to worry much about it with your negative tag line, I'm suprised your still using the tivo at all.

ditto on the rf2link channel changes still being 99.99999% OK and I have one of the external Pacelink IR boxes doing the Sky button + Backup thing every 5 minutes (and this only "breaks" when the wife has been at the rack with my old undies, err duster )

I've had the 'audio prefix' software on my Sky box for some time - and not noticed any incorrect changes since them.

Only time was a complete lockup of the Sky box.

Boo.

I was hoping they'd realised the problems they were going to cause and recanted.

Actually no, I was pretty much convinced they'd go ahead with it at some point regardless of the problems it would cause third party equipment on the basis that it works on all Sky kit such as Sky+

What I have as a signature is absolutely none of your business and since when did I need your permission to use TiVo.
