Nip/Tuck - 12/13 "Joy Kringle" - *Spoilers*

Pretty boring episode in my opinion. The only saving grace was the ending. It was slightly moving. Beyond that it seemed to be the writers just trying to close up storylines as we approach the Season Finale: Matt's Girlfriend, Matt's problems with Christian, Sean and Julia's issues, Quentin's departure from the practice, etc.

But Nip/Tuck has got to be the KING of unresolved storylines. After not seeing Kit since the beginning of the season she's going to reappear. Last week's episode could have existed in a vacuum with no mention of it this week.

Finally, next week's episode:
Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)

Looks like it's either going to be Liz, Matt, or Quentin from the teasers that they gave for next week. I would find it hard to believe if it was anyone but Quentin, but it looks like the Carver will have two hours of limelight. Should be a shocking finale either way!

God I hope that they don't unmask the carver to the characters but have his/her back to us and make us wait until next season to find out who it is. I could totally see the writers pulling some crap like that and then saying "We told you the Carver would be unmasked and we told you that everyone would find out who it was...but we just meant everyone as in the characters...not the viewers"

The episode cut out for me just as they were walking out of the clinic and holding hands. Did I miss anything else?

Yeah it wasn't so much the supremacist thing as it was her constant need for validation.

the bummer of Joy Kringle was that Santa turned out to be a typical man. The Carver....has everyone forgotten about Ava???

Something interesting in the preview for next week:
Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)

It was quick and hard to make out, even in slo-mo, but there was a shot of a half naked guy, tied spread-eagle to a bed, looking a bit messed up, and written in red (blood?) on the wall above the bed, presumably by The Carver, is "I can't stop" or "I just can't stop" (I forget which now).

Anyway, the guy tied to the bed looked a lot like Quentin, didn't he?

And a spoiler from the TiVo guide data for the very last episode:
Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)

The title for that episode (which is usually the name of a patient in that episode, right?) is "Quentin Costa"... interesting (assuming that's the same Quentin, I've only started watching recently, so I don't know).

I think Matt has finally realized "wow, this girl's more screwed up than I am - what the hell am I doing"

The daughter finally makes an appearance, albeit for ten seconds and one line.

I realize the writers probably wanted Sean and Julia to come to their realization dramatically, but did she need to schedule her abortion for 7 PM on Christmas Eve?

I saw the same thing as you busyba

On top of everything else wrong with Ariel, she quoted an urban legend about Coca Cola making Santa a fat man:

Actually, wasnt her comment about Santa referring to the fact that Coke commercialized the history and meaning behind Santa. She was agreeing with the Snopes article in the Santa was much more of a past than what Coke made him. She hated that he lost his meaning and roots.

Still a crazy be-yotch though.

No, but your arse does.

I actually loooved the episode. Julia being pregnant and then Mrs. Claus, how freaky was that. I thought Julia's reaction to her being pregnant was strange. I thought she acted like Quinten was the father, when isn't it Sean?

I hate and love that they have back to back of the same episode. When I first started watching it it showed the ending of the first episode and by the time I got to the end it had cut off the ending. So then I had to rewind to the beginning to watch the ending and watch next week's previews. Make sense?

LOL, I always loved that line. Of course if I actually said it to a woman who asked me that question, she would slap me and then go commit suicide.

Julia was PO'ed b/c she knew it was Sean's (by virtue of not sleeping with Quentin) and that meant it wasn't an easy decison to abort... and indeed, in the end, she couldn't go through with it.

The next ep, 2 hours, looks good

It's not a hour season finale right? It's two one hour ones, no?

Not sure where they will take it during the finale, but i was hoping they would draw the Ariel storyline out a little longer. There could have been some pretty intense storylines.

Yeah it said "2 hour season finale" in the preview at the end, er beginning of the episode for me.

Havana, I have the same problem as you do! It's annoying, but at least we don't miss the last part of the episode and preview for next week.

The preview gets cut off on the OC for me and week after week I go "I keep meaning to pad this show."

I am just hoping the carver storyline gets completely resolved in the finale so they can basically make a fresh start with the direction of the show next season!

Are you sure that Julia's baby is Sean's?

Isn't there an urban myth about a hot tub induced pregnancy?
Time to call the Mythbusters. I volunteer to be in the hot tub with Kari as she gives me a happy ending!

My data guide is all out of whack.

It shows for Tuesday "Cherry Peck, Quentin Costas" is 2:04, and the same episode right after is is 1:56.

Then on Wednesday it shows "Cherry Peck" for 1:00 and then "Quentin Costas" 1:00.

It is not out of wack. They are stuffing more commericals into the first showing so they can charge more for them.

They split the 2 hour finale into 2 epsiodes when they repeat them later in the week. That caused my SP to pick up the finale and both of the separated episodes.

All they've promised is that we'll know who it is, not that the storyline will be resolved. If it's a prominent character there could be the aftermath, a trial, etc. The Carver storyline almost definitely won't end this season.

Quentin's not likely because he would have to fix what he broke as part of his job.
Matt's not likely, because other than the fact that it's creepy that he'd rape his own father, although he does have parental issues, he's just not THAT sick!

Not so fast! The finale preview shows her losing her mind, probably attacking Matt for telling her secret to her father, something that no doubt caused additional tention in her house

At the end of last season they make it pretty clear that Ava is not the Carver. They show her at the airport leaving Miami as Christian is getting attacked.
