Bad Reception or TiVo ?

Over the last week I've had really bad artifacting on my TiVo recordings. If I rewind I get the same artifacting, so its definately on the recording. Question is, is it TiVo or is it the Sky Reception ? As I never watch live telly, I can't really tell.

Is it possible for tivo to get an error where it looks like sporadic bad reception ?

Has anyone else had bad reception in the Derby/Nottingham area last week?

To be honest, its dark when I leave for work , and dark when I get back, so its possible the satalitte dish has fallen off, and I've just not noticed.

Similar here....

I had Sky+ installed a few weeks ago and my recordings have been a bit dodgy....was going to put it down to a faulty Sky Box....Have wiped the Tivo just in case it's getting twitchy but wonder if anyone else is having issues....

IME, if the pixellation is exactly repeatable - ie. it has been recorded - then the problem is normally with Sky.

TiVo drive issues usually result in unrepeatable pixellation and/or hangs/freezes/reboots when playing the affected recording.

And sometimes/almost always DMA error entires in the kernel log along the lines of.....
Aug 16 11:46:06 (none) kernel: hda: drive_cmd: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
Aug 16 11:46:06 (none) kernel: hda: drive_cmd: error=0x04 { DriveStatusError }, secCnt=1, LBAsect=12734239

And other variations as well....
