Solaris X86 and Serial Cable

From A Newbie

Has anyone connected to TIVO using Solaris X86 and Serial Cable have checked forums and internet and everything seems to be PC Releated.

Looking to add another drive in the future possible by putting drive in usb enclosurer and then connecting to X86 Solaris and running upgrade procedure.

For X86/Intel Solaris it should be pretty much the same as connecting via Windows or
Linux, the serial cable pinout is still the same. The only difference would be if you used
Sparc/Solaris boxes in which case you might need a pin-over/gender-bender to remap
the cable configuration.
