Perl Module Implementation

Since people have been discussing C++ and C# implementations of the Tivo protocol, I thought I would add that a Perl module has already been released. You can find TiVo::HME::Application at the Perl archives:

Yeah I saw that. Pretty cool if you're in to Perl. I think it's usefulness is limited, but that's me.

cheers,

Has anyone made some real-world apps using the perl modules yet? I'd be rather interested in seeing the results. I'm currently learning java to work with the HME app but I am a rather seasoned perl programmer. Perhaps I should put the java books down for a while, and just start coding apps on my redhat box using perl.

I was meaning with the TiVo software. Have there been any HME apps created using perl? I used the X10 modules to create a web interface to my ActiveHome devices quite some time ago. I guess I could try to modify it to work with the HME apps. My main goal however is to create the ability to re-order my netflix queue from the tivo.

I just glanced over the animation example. It looks straight forward for simple applications. When I get some time over Christman break, I'm going to kick this around a little.

I wonder if I can strap a Perl based Wap Browser to this framework?
