The Hot-ami Sunday Brunch thread

What: Sunday Morning Bowling and Brunch

Where: Lucky Strike, 1691 Michigan Ave, Miami Beach, Fl 33139

When: Sunday Morning, at 11:30 AM

How much: Here is where it's a bit interesting. I rented three lanes for two hours at the cost of $110 total. This is regardless of how many people play or how many games we play.

So divided among 20 people (which is the number I thought when I rented it), that's only $5.50 a person to bowl. With less people, the price will go obviously go up (but not by too much).

Food and drink are extra.

I vote for Lucky Strike. The food is WAAAAY better than D&B's, and the bowling activity is more conducive to us all staying together and talking.

D&B's seems to encourage that we all spread out and play individual video games. And the food ain't so hot.

In order to reserve the lanes, I made a tentative reservation at Lucky Strike for 11:30 AM on Sun.

A reservation is just that, a reservation. So if we change our minds, and go somewhere else, we can always cancel. But I wanted to make sure that we could get the lanes.

I'm very pro bowling (especially since it WAS my college sport). I think I mentioned it before, but the Dave & Busters in Miami is in a mall (Dolphin Mall) that also has a bowling alley - http://www.strikemiami.com.

However, this is in a big mall and not very exciting if you've come all the way in from out of town. But, it would be convenient if there was some big desire to do them both.

I voted for Dave and Busters though, but either is ok with me. I'll hang wherever the peaps hang.

I never said I passed the class. Actually I did get an A, while my friends who were in the class got Bs. This of course led to jealousy and allegations of improper behavior with the coach. The bowling world is full of this kind of back stabbing!

I should warn you folks, I just so happen to be the BBYO Southeast Regional Broward County Youth Bowling Champ, 1985 and 1987.

This might reduce some of the fun for you folks who just like to dabble in the sport.

It's a shame that you peaked so young. Everything else after THAT big victory must have been a letdown.

I could have sworn you said you were a Pro Bowler, but then that would be in football.

Ahem. Then there was that little thing called the "Miami Herald Silver Knight Honorable Mention for Community Service, 1989." Perhaps you've heard of it?

Lets just say, yours truly took home the goods.

So I'm supposed to be impressed that you graduated from High School in Miami? Because, unless it was a private school that is CERTAINLY not anything to brag about (and I know because I went to Southwest).

Bump.

People are interested in this, right?

I just wanted to make sure b/c the bowling alley is charging us by time, and not by games played. If we have a lot of people, the price is actually quite reasonable, but if there are fewer, than it's not.

Do people want to go bowl? Do they want to meet somewhere else? Do they want more beach time?

No specific date, (from the bowling alley at least, we're booked). Just soon.
