Sleeper Cell 12/14/2005 (S01E08) "Intramural"

LAPD got slapped! Sri Lanka... hehe.

Of course, the whole team from LAPD needs to be isolated; they all know about the undercover operation.

The previews for the finale look great. I do hope Darwyn gets the chance to explain everything to Gayle.

I finally got caught up on this one, and am looking forward to the finale on Sunday.

I kept wondering where the heck Darwyn's co-lookout (Tommy) was when the LAPD was storming the premises to take down Darwyn. Then, the FBI storms the LAPD. And, Tommy, the co-lookout, doesn't see or hear anything?

He must have been farther away than I thought.

Farik sent Tommy to "the other side". I guess I didn't realize how far away the other side was either because I wondered the same thing.

Also, I would have expected Farik to chastise Darwin for leaving his post.

They certainly made the LAPD look like clowns. The Lt. should be busted!

The woman who told them to get off the case did a horrible job also. Her "order" for them to layoff only pissed off the cops. It should have been done a lot better, IMHO. Something like, hey guys, this is critical, this is not just so we look good, lives are truly at stake and if you don't back off, I assure you the info you don't know will end up killing innocent people. We can try to include you in the glory later if there is any, but I can have your word that you will back off?

I pondered that as I watched. Many movies and cop TV shows have shown the cops working on a case, tracking down bad guys, only be blocked by the Feds who swoop in and say "National Security"

Since it was bad to even say they had someone on the inside, the Fed's hands are pretty tied when it comes to getting the locals to back off. So often in movies and TV we see it from the other side where the "national security" excuse is usually assumed to be some gov't conspiricy.

I like it that we had the different perspective of the Feds, and watched the locals ignore them and press on anyway. On shows where we see it from the local perspective we're usually rooting for them to ignore the Feds and go get the bad guy.

Excellent point, thus my view that the FBI agent had to really say, this is critical and not BS. She clamed up and made it look just like you are saying, an FBI mess-up screw up glory thing. I saw it coming as everyone else did. It could have been avoided by her doing a better job, without giving away security issues. But then, we wouldn't have had that segment of the show!
