Watched the miniseries, and the first episode today.
Man, the miniseries was good. However, the first episode was pretty confusing. I thought they jumped to a remote area of space to escape the Cylons, and that it was successful. Apparently not?
Also, Im managing to get horrible confused about the whole invisible-to-everyone-except-Gaius Cylon person, and the whole Gods thing, like repenting to the Gods and the President allowed the ship to be shot down.
Also, the whole Boomer thing, and that guy on Caprica who gets cought by the Cylons, only to get rescued by a Cylon pretending to be Boomer, which the Cylons allow...
Apparently the whole idea is to destroy the remaining human population from the inside out.
I don't remember that much about the first season or the details.
As far as the Humans jumping to a remote area of space: they did exactly that. But it only took the Cylons 33 minutes to figure out where they went and that's why they kept having to jump.
God vs. Gods - Keep this in mind. The Humans believe in multiple gods while the Cylons believe in one God. It's usually a tell as to who is who or what side they sympathize with if they say one or the other.
