If anyone has any additional comments on hotel options, or wants to throw out opinions for/against particular hotels, please do so.. and soon. By next week, the planning team needs to have the hotel options pared down to about 3 or 4 different hotels so that we can do one final poll to officialize the group hotel. Then the planning team hits the ground running.

Just from a cursory glance, it looks like the hotel ideas that everyone seems most excited about are the Flamingo, TI, the Luxor, and the Aladdin.

(Sorry if I missed any other hotels that had a lot of discussion... like I said, cursory glance)

All of them have similar price points in the $80 - $95 per night price range, and all of them have their pros and cons. If folks have other options they want to discuss, please bring them up. The more discussion, the better... and in here, even a "Me too" or a "I like that idea" helps us out, because we want to understand how many folks are pro/con certain ideas.

So, come add your two cents to the mix. By Friday afternoon, I'd like to get things narrowed down to just a few options so we can get this behemoth rolling.

as a reference point... I noticed TI had pretty decent rates for larger rooms for those wanting a bit more space to get their Vegas groove on. Not sure what the other properties were like.

What? A king sized bed isn't big enough for you to get your "Vegas groove on"? Now you need a bigger room?

Skittles I think you pretty well stated it. A mid-strip hotel with decent rates and a decent pool pretty much nails it for me. I like Jeff's idea of having good rates for bigger rooms or views. The strip view room at TI is pretty intriguing at this point, not sure if it's worth the bux though.

I don't know if it's been discussed, but the Aladdin is undergoing a "rebranding". It wouldn't impact us unless they're doing a lot of hammerin' and stuff. Just a thought.

H'mm, Tangerine does make Treasure Island more appealing.

D'ya think we need a change of pace from Quark's, though? I mean, heck, there are so many people I haven't had a chance to share a Borg Sphere with yet.

(not sayin' we have to do the whole Experience thing... let's just save our ride money and use it in Quark's. )

I dunno about anyone else, but I'm definitely putting the Experience itself on my list of "to dos." I've only experienced the experience once a few years ago.

I did it last year, I don't think I would do it again unless we got a good group rate again. I definetly wouldn't pay full fare.

I enjoyed the Experience, but I've done one of the rides twice, the other ride three times... that backstage thing seems interesting, though.

Still, I could sit in Quark's and chat with that Klingon guy all day. I need to learn to sip the Borg Sphere, however.

At Tangerine, I think I'd be a bit intimidated... but those couches look nice for snuggling up to someone.
