? how do you burn backup on cd

After entering the wonderful world of upgrading, once I have my tivos image backed up and this is in Linux, do I just restore to the cd which is writable.

I have read tons of things and had the fun of redoing my drive quite a few times.

Unless you have CD burner drivers installed in your linux distro you will need to copy the backup file to somewhere readable by Windows, reboot and burn to CD from there.
