I loaded the new info module on both my Tivos. One ran fine. The other displayed the following message at the bottom of the page:

The reserved space was calculated incorrectly, if you want it to be correct, send the following information to the tivoweb authors:
3.0-01-1-010
312616960 10000000
129793 22852

Is this information for you PortlandPaw, or for someone else?

Well, I did the change, and it now finds the correct module. One little issue, I get this message:

Quote:
SMART support is: Available - device has SMART capability.
SMART support is: Disabled

SMART Disabled. Use option -s with argument 'on' to enable it.

How do I do that?

Another small issue, the current time here is 10:41, and that's what the TiVo thinks it is. However, infoplus thinks...

Local Time is: Sun Jun 13 14:41:59 2004 localtime

Why would the time be four hours off?

To enable SMART support, you have to run /var/hack/bin/smartctl -e /dev/hda for your first drive. If you have two drives, you need to also do /var/hack/bin/smartctl -e /dev/hdb.

The -s option mentioned executes a short self test, but it doesn't enable SMART support.

The time looks to be Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). I belive the Tivo uses GMT for all internal time functions. It is usually converted to localtime by the Tivo, but the SMART output that is displayed in the info module must not be smart enough to do the conversion.

Thanks, that seems easy.

FWIW, I had to run ./smartctl -s on /dev/hda to get mine to enable. -e was an unrecognized option.

GMT, that's kinda' what I figured. Not a big thing, I just wondered if there was a magic switch that I had missed.

Could you expand a bit more please, PortlandPaw. I've changed my bitrates and so need to change the values in your info module

Many thanks.

Wow, that's been a long time. I guess my calculations were based on my bitrate. If yours is different, then you'll need to recalculate. I got the seconds from the recording time as reported on the TiVo and divided that by the reported free space as per the info module. The reason it was carried out to umpteen decimal places was that I used excel to do the calculation and then just cut and pasted. I tried to find the file I used, but I guess, for once, I deleted something when I didn't need it anymore.

Perfect - although you did have me scratching my head for a few minutes. Your constants are derived from Tivo's reported recording capacity in minutes and not seconds (You slipped in a *60 before the constants)

Now my Info module's times match Tivo's. Thanks.

I just tried this and the S.M.A.R.T. works fine, but I get this at the end of the info:

INTERNAL SERVER ERROR
--cut here--
action_info '/' ''
can't read "::reservedsize": no such variable
while executing
"if {[expr round($hservertotclips/1024)] != $::reservedsize} {
set mismatch 1
} elseif {[expr round($hservertotmedia/2/1024) - round(..."
(procedure "::action_info" line 291)
invoked from within
"::action_$action $chan $part $env"
("eval" body line 1)
invoked from within
"eval {::action_$action $chan $part $env}"
--cut here--

Any ideas? I'm using a Philips series 1 with the lba48 kernel.

Thanks,
Steve Smith

I had to correct the path to smarttcl which took away one of my errors. I'm still getting this, though:

Code:
INTERNAL SERVER ERROR --cut here-- action_info '/' '' wrong # args: should be "exec ?switches? arg ?arg ...?" while executing "exec" (procedure "::action_info" line 245) invoked from within "::action_$action $chan $part $env" ("eval" body line 1) invoked from within "eval {::action_$action $chan $part $env}" --cut here--

I have a Sony SVR-2000 with software v. 3.0-01-1-010.

I would advise a switch to TivoWebPlus. But I might wait a while, as there's a new release under development.

I installed TivoWebPlus on my SAT-T60 and should be able to start using it tonight. I just have to get cable ran to it.

Nice job on Hackman, by the way. I added that yesterday as well.

This is the wrong thread for this question...if I weren't still subscribed to it, I never would have seen it.

But to answer the question, the readme indicates that "Preferences and other options are set on the "Edit files and preferences" page. You can view this screen by clicking on the cleverly disguised "November, 2004" line at the bottom of the hackman screen." One of the things you can change is the label for this entry point from "November, 2004" to something more descriptive, like "Edit files and preferences."

The readme also describes how to override the path settings, if need be.

Hi,

I found these older posts while looking for a smartctl module to use with dailymail. Is there an 11infoplus.itcl module for TivoWebPlus?

Here it is. I haven't looked at it in a year, but I think it's still good. Change the .txt extension to .itcl.

Smile Works on TiVoWebPlus

Just installed it on my S2 DTivo (Hughes SD-DVR40) with TivoWebPlus and it works great. The only thing I had to do was implement the change in the 11infoplus.itcl so that it runs the smartctl in /var/bin/hack (which supports the -H) and not the one provided by Tivo.

PortlandPaw, is the one you just posted an updated version? I installed the one listed in your 1st post in this thread. Thanks for a great app!

The first one is infoplus, which was written a long time ago for the standalone. The last one, also written a long time ago, was similarly named plusinfo and was written for the dtivo. Either will work with TivoWebPlus, but the latter will provide more info. Also, I question the calculations for recording time and the critical temp levels may be low. I revised the original versions in my early days of TiVo hacking.
