I just sent the below feedback to Spike TV. I'll also call them later today... I have a feeling the phone message may have more impact.

----------

I am one of those addicted "Joe Schmo" freaks you've probably heard from in numbers already.

Monday's new episode - "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" - was touted both on and off the air as a 90 minute version. While I can certainly understand the network's reticence to keep people up at past 12:30 AM, it is my understanding that the full 90 minute version of Episode 4 is in your network's possession.

I would be VERY happy if this episode could air in one, more, or all of the JS2 repeat slots this week. If you can't get it on the air for tomorrow, then Saturday or Sunday would be fine. For one, it's important to us Schmo-heads because the one and only Matt Kennedy Gould will be seen in the full 90 minute version.

We need our Schmo and our MKG!

Thanks for your kind consideration,

(name/city)

EDIT: Well, I just realized I said "tomorrow" when I meant today, but either way, I hope they got the message!

Me too! Me too! I sent feedback as well, though it was not nearly as long or as eloquent a message as some of you have sent. Oh well, keeping my fingers crossed!

I sent feedback also, asking them to air the 90 minute show.

Can anyone tell me what happened to Bryce having to put his tongue into Piper's ear as his test at dinner? Did it end up on the cutting room floor along with everything else? I can't believe I missed that.

Well, since they showed an embarrassment of Bryce's (the faux hypnotism..."Mockingbird!"), it's a safe bet he failed to pull it off. But I would have preferred to see a weak attempt stamped with "Fail" as well.

BTW, I'm putting it on the record that if there is indeed a JS3, I'm going to be camping out in front of Rhett's office door like a common Bryce, until he says "uncle!" and lets me get involved somehow! I'll go get coffee! I'll clean the production trailer! I don't care, I wanna be there for it! ;>

(Note: This was an audition for a Bryce-like role in JS3. No actual stalking will take place.)

Wouldn't it be nice if we could have an officially sanctioned release of the 90 minute version on to the BitTorrent network if the show doesn't get aired on Spike. It was done with Fahrenheit 911.

Note the picture on SpikeTV's main Joe Schmoe website.

'Schmo' Production Company Becomes Stone Alone
(Tuesday, July 06 02:16 PM)

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) After a 14-year partnership that led to an array of television successes including Comedy Central's "The Man Show" and Spike TV's "Joe Schmo Show," Scott Stone and David Stanley are splitting up.

According to media reports, Stone Stanley Entertainment will now be run just by Stone, while Stanley is going to work at another television production hour returning to his "studio roots."

"It's been 14 years and one of the greatest rides of all time," Stanley tells The Hollywood Reporter.

The duo was working at Lorimar Telepictures before starting their own single in 1990. They got their producing break with niche programs like the late-night "Freddy's Nightmares" and the long-running game show "Shop 'Til You Drop," which has moved from Lifetime to Family Channel to Pax.

On the networks, they've been responsible for ABC's "The Mole," NBC's "Fame" and "Popstars" on The WB. Other cable offerings have included "Loveline" on MTV and "Oblivious" on TNN. Branching into films, Stone Stanley produced "Children of the Corn II: The Final Sacrifice."

For now, the production company will keep Stanley's name, though it may eventually be changed if Scott finds a new partner. Stanley is expected to announce his new television home in the near future.

It looks like the repercussions from last nights 60 minute aborted episode, are just coming to light!

For the record, I'm spending the evening dropping email to Spike about every ten minutes regarding the 90 minute version. I plan on annoying them to death. Or until they show the real episode. Whichever comes first.

This continues to be (covertly) the dirtiest show on television. I had to stifle laughing at the "donkey punch" line because I didn't want to have to explain it to the wife.

Um. Even Urbandictionary.com isn't helpful on this one. I figured it had some sort of meaning and was cracking up that Tim was really the only one laughing.

OOooo! Speculation:
Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
That would explain the "pizza guy" angle we'd heard about. What's sillier than a pizza guy in a porn movie?

Ah man. That'd be hilarious. Don't get me wrong. MKG's one of my all-time favorites. But I actually am enjoying this version so much I'm not really pining away for him.

Matt Kennedy Gould, star of Joe Schmo the first.

Quote:
I am trying to get them to commit to airing the 90 minute episode sometime this week. It's much better than the 60 minute version. It includes Matt Gould's appearance, Derek Newcastle's 'British Breakfast,' more Amanda and Ingrid, and a wonderful scene between Gerald, TJ, and Amanda where Gerald counsels TJ about how to pick up ladies. Wish me luck!

I don't know why I didn't catch this last part the first time I read it, but geez. I laughed just reading about the Gerald teaching TJ thing. That HAD to be funny. Darned Spike.

Okay, how sad is this?

I was watching the candle ceremony for the *second* time, and Bryce made me get misty-eyed! I had tears! And *then* I remembered, "Hey, wait a minute, the guy is an actor ..."

The other thing I want to know is this: Ralph, how hard was it not to mess up "dip your wick" and say "whip your ... ?"

I believe that all went down during his "date" with Piper. I'd originally questioned why they would send the 2 of them out together and even give Tim a chance to develop some feelings for her, but now I see they had to keep him out of the house.

The mini-reveal was great and all, but I thought it was kind of odd how Ingrid's reaction went from, "Eh, I figgered" to "This is the greatest night of my life." Maybe that was a result of the forced 30-minute edit.

I don't think that's him. It's my understanding that whatever small roll he had was cut from the last episode. I guess it didn't have any relation to the story.

But we've been fooled before and probably will be again, so I don't know what to think anymore. I gotta give the show credit for keeping it's viewers just as in the dark as it's target(s).

i watched joe schmo 2 monday night and was very confused when the show ended at midnight. i watched again tonight (tuesday) hoping to see the 90 minute version of last night's episode that your network had advertised. once more, it was cut down to 60 minutes.

and i will watch that episode yet again if you will _please_ show the full version!

i implore you, be true to your dedicated fans -- the ones who are spreading the word about your show and tuning in every week no matter how many schedule changes there are! _please_ air the 90 minute version this weekend before monday's new episode!

I just finished sending feedback to Spike, promising them that I would buy/use their advertisers' products en masse if it would ensure that the 90 minute episode gets shown.

So if anyone sees a sudden surge of young, nubile Asian ladies flooding match.com, it's all...uh...just...me.

*sigh*

SpikeTV also didn't show a rerun of the previous week's episode at 9 p.m. either.

I mentioned in the previous thread that, on Sunday's rerun, someone at SpikeTV destroyed the punchline,

Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
"Ingrid . . . We're screwed,"

by superimposing a promo directly over it. I started re-recording over Episode #3, hoping that the promo wouldn't be there on tonight's rerun. Instead, I wound up getting an episode of Star Trek. (Riker gets semi-enslaved as a plaything by a female dominated society and has to be rescued by the women of Enterprise. It's one of the worst episodes in the series.)

JS2 has been bumped around and pre-empted by Star Trek, police car chases, and WWE wrestling. Nonetheless, it will succeed as the little show that could.
