Right now... minimally... Folders/Grouping.

Plus possible some performance enhancements...

The R10 is currently running 6.1, so if you want... Jump into some of the other thread and readup on all the clammering about the possibility we may be getting HMO Sooner then later.

Has anyone tried restoring a 6.1 image on a HDVR2 or other "2.0" DirecTivo?

Yes, and in all cases it does NOT work.

I wonder what is up?
I just checked again this morning and the DirecTiVo that always gets the upgrade first is still scheduling phone calls every two days, it had been on an eight day schedule since getting the c upgrade earlier this year, and last week it switched to a two day schedule. My other two DirecTiVos which also have version e, and usually get the upgrades about three to four weeks later, are still on an eight day phone call schedule.

I know that someone said the upgrade was going out in January, but something is up. I am quite sure the two day schedule has been activated for some reason.

My DVR2 had been scheduled the 15th for the last few days which was a much shorter interval than the normal schedule and now it's out to the 23rd.

We'll see.

Maybe they just shortened the call-in schedule to increase the amount of real-time feedback from viewing habits around the Christmas season.

They are probably selling this information to advertisers or resalers etc. just before Chrismas.

The two day upload is from one of my request.

Testing has shown that the larger the data store of Thumbs Up and Down and recording and channel changing usage

the Slow the Guide data is displayed.

Uploading every day or two speeds the box up.

If it works out ALL tivos will update every two days.

Is this even remotely true? AFAIK, they would then need to CLEAR the TU/TD data and clear the usage data, not just upload it.

Unlikely, because the other boxes with the eight day phone schedule have more scheduled recordings and activity, than the box that always gets the first update, which is currently, as of early this week on a two day schedule.

Interestingly, my series 1 T60 has recently gone to a two day schedule. My HDVR2 is on an 8 day schedule.

...and seems to be running quite quickly.

Same here for my HDVR2, however I did notice the annoying audio dropouts returned this afternoon while listening to 815. They disappeared after the "e" update only to be replaced with slight skips. Brings back old vinyl memories.
