Fredericksburg, VA (DC area) BBQ. April 1-3.

I was thinking that I might do this at my house at the end of March or the beginning of April.

Wanted to see if there would be any interest.

In fact, I would ship the kids out so there would even be room at the inn for out of towners if they wanted on a first come, first serve basis.

I do have to warn that Fredericksburg is 50 miles south of DC.

Orlando in March.
Virginia in April.
Vegas in June.
Northern California in there somewhere.

I better start saving my pennies. But at least I can drive, instead of fly, to Virginia. Any way to get there from the Northeast without having to endure the Beltway?

There is a very good chance I would do that. I've been wanting to meet some people from TCF but Vegas looks out for me this time, so this might work out great. I have some really good friends in Fredericksburg that I can stay with and had actually planned on visiting them sometime next spring or summer anyway.

It sounds like the usually suspects.

I will be out of town next week with only dial up but I will pick this up after the New Year. There is enough interest that I will do it but if anybody has dates that will work better then others go ahead and though them out.

One other thing. I will try to supply all the alcohol for this event but I am kind of a stickler for people not drinking and driving. So, anybody is welcome to stay over (might be on the floor) but I won't let you leave drunk. I think that is fair.

Great idea Ken.

IJLT: I think a carpool is a good idea. I don't mind picking up Allie on the way (assuming she doesn't ask me to go shirtless)

If we are throwing out dates, the weekend of March 18-20 or April 1-3 would work best for me. I have my girls every other weekend, and it would be nice if it fell on a day that I didn't have them. If it doesn't work out that way, I'm sure I can coerce Grandma and Grandad into watching them though.

As far as carpooling goes, maybe I could catch a ride with you Andrew? Or, since I'm the one with the mini-van, I would be happy to do the driving. My car fits 7

Either of those weekends suggested by pcgrrll work for me, as well. I do prefer April 1-3 myself because I'll need a few weeks to recover from that lightning trip to Hotlando on March 5-6.

Actually, the BBQ would be on April 2 (Saturday) -- right? That's what I'll put in the calendar.

Well, yes. Yes, it is.

Right in the middle of the Cherry Blossom Festival:

Of course, weather can have a say in this.

I dunno just yet. There is this, plus Orlando and Vegas. I'm going to San Francisco in January, plus I want to take a real vacation sometime this year.

What, coming to a TC meet isn't a "real" vacation?
