WIlliam,

I was having a similar problem until I adjusted my firewall/internet worm settings. You have to open up the ports that DT2 wants to use to communicate. I do not know them off hand, but saw them in another forum here. Since I did that, I have had no problem getting DT2 to work!

Good luck, and let me know if this helped.

Have you called support back after your first call?? I seriously doubt someone from Tivo is going to call you out of the blue and help you troubleshoot. I imagine they must have a Tier II group or the TTG group to pass calls to when the person answering the phone can't assist.

As an aside it sounds like you have a networking issue, which is not related to your signal strength - you're connected or you ain't.

USB 2.0 is in 7.1. TivoBill was incorrect by saying there wasn't. He has since then said it is in 7.1.

My mistake then. Good to hear it.

I may persue this later. More important things in life. I've wasted too much time on it already.

From what I understand, USB 2.0 is in 7.1, but high-speed network drivers are not. So, the network adapter still ends up being a huge bottleneck.

Can anyone confirm this?

I've got WinDVD 4.x installed on this machine so I guess the codec from that is dandy.

No fair! First you get to live in the "good" part of NJ with Optimum Online and now you get 7.1/TiVoToGo. While I live in Crap...um...Comcast land with 4.02 and 1/2 of TiVoToGo (aka. "TiVo Desktop 2.0").

Why not Humax?

My TivoHumax 80hr DVR does not qualify for the 7.1* upgrade? Does anyone know why? Then which ones do qualify?

Here is a post from TiVoBill explaining;

http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-v...threadid=214945

Simply put all Series 2 Stand Alone and Combo DVD boxes except those with Burners will get the update.
