Directv message driving me crazy!

I don't have a phonejack close enough to hook up to my tivo, and I dont want to spend any money to buy a wireless one. I don't want to watch any movies or ppv's, AND I don't want to be hassled by this "Please make a daily call soon" crap!

Anyway to disable it so I dont have to delete these messages everyday? Everyday when I try and go into my List of recorded shows it sends me to this message!

I've lived with it for almost 900 days on my Series 1 and almost 60 days on my HD Tivo. Either plug it in or hack it. I delete the messages a few times a year when I don't have anything better to do for an hour.

Crazy message

OK Kdob quick question when you did, or the directv installer did the initial setup your Directivo needed to make a call in, how did you or they do this? If I recall correctly wireless phonejacks will not work.

Solution- Well one solution is to McGyver it, here is what you do. You go to your local Home Depot or Lowe's and get some outdoor or indoor telephone wire and connect it from the back of your Directivo to the nearest phone jack. The phone wire varies i believe from 50 feet up to 1,000 feet. Good luck.

Like rigs said, buy a long phone cord and every month run it across the room to a phone jack, go in the menu and force a daily call, then unplug the phone line and put it away for 30 days.

It isn't too hard to run extra phone lines. I've run many all over the house. If you do decide to go with a wireless phone solution, make sure it is one that can handle modem frequencies (wireless modem jack).

I ran phoneline all way across the room, and yes I'm lazy so I dont want to do anything else with it. Guess I will just hack it, one way or another. Thanks fellas.

haven't had to deal with this in a while. About 6 years ago (in an old house) I had a wireless phone jack for my old SONY directv receiver which I still own. I am adding a third receiver in my new house to a room where the phone line is all the way across the room. is there anything different about the modem call-ins? or will wireless phone jacks still be able to handle the calls?

They're so small it doesn't make any real difference.

And seriously, the nag takes up 3 seconds a day (30 if you bother to delete it) and that drives you nuts?
