I've got my DTivos set to reject this downgrade. I already had folders, MRV and HMO for the last 4 months.

Skip 6.2 and go to 4.01b.

How do you set them up to reject the software upgrade?

I received my card yesterday, 5/4/05. (Nashville, TN)

Does the 6.2 upgrade affect the 30 second skip feature?

If you dont want the update leave your phone line unplugged from the receiver. The 30 second skip still works with 6.2 software.

I received my notice for the upgrade on 5/3/05 and checked one of my receivers and instead of it calling out once every two weeks it is now set to call in two days after the last call.

If you have your TiVo hacked you can set it to not receive software updates but for the rest of us if you do not want the update just unplugged the phone line. I can wait for the update, I wish they would just hurry up and let us have it.

Got my notice yesterday (VA). I have Vonage, and my HDVR2 actually works with it. However, I've noticed a TON of 1 min calls to 18667092073 since 5/3/05 at 11am. Wonder if that's some new 6.2 activation #.

The upgrade looks good and all. But is it significant enough for them to spend money on mailing out postcards to everyone? The postcard looks like a slicker production than the upgrade itself is going to be. Couldn't they have just printed a little note on the bill?

I very rarely open my bill, and I'm probably not the only one. So this did prompt me to at least read it and then call Directv to see how much it would cost to replace my old Sony T60.

My big question: For those who have it, does the 30 second commercial skip still work? ("Select Play Select 3 0 Select" from http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-v...threadid=122090 )

The other thing is the note will hopefully prevent a lot of calls to CS when folks start seeing folders, etc...

P.S. I got my card today.

Anyone who has autobilling to a credit card get a post card? I haven't seen anything yet.

Maybe the mailman kept it for himself?

I still haven't received any card here in Madison, WI.
I'm not too worried though. Last year I received a postcard saying they had given me 6 months of Showtime free. I received the postcard a full month after they started the free service.
Like most around here, I'll believe in the upgrade when I see it.
