Have not seen the updtae yet either in Missouri.

But think I just got put to the end of the line Had a Philips DSR708 that the colour was fading in and out on the TV, this occurred only when viewing TV through the Philips, it never occurred when watching a DVD or VHS movie so it appeared that it was the 708 with the problem.

In short I called DTV and they cross shipped a new model(another Philips DSR708 ) and I replaced it last night. Think this put me at the end of the list.

For that matter, have not seen much but is the Philips DSR708 is going to get the update? have not seen it on a exclusion list.

My bedrom TiVo always gets the upgrades first. The other one always has been the second unit to get any upgrades.

It is not by location, it is randomly by receiver ID.

6.2's installing on my DSR-708 as we speak. I'm up in the Boston, MA area, so I must have a west-coast box that got shipped to me by mistake

Not to start a deluge of forced calls, but I think it's only fair to tell you guys that I tried a call at 7:00am, 1:00pm, and just now at 6:00pm edt. It was that last one that threw the switch. I'm not sure what time of day they authorize additional receivers, but they're not being geographically discriminatory.

Dallas We have Lift Off

After all the excitement in the forum, I got home and decided to force a call.
One TiVo got the update, one did not.

So far 6.2 seems nice. faster Now Playing with folders.
However, the Guide is marginally quicker.

Now to decide if I will enable HMO hacks...

Well with all the roll out news I decided to force a call on one of my DTivos - nothing. So I went to the other one that has not had a phone line plugged in for 260 days and forced a call and I got the update......... 3.1.1e.

Oh well, guess I'll try again in a few days

actually, americans tend to mistake irony for sarcasm:

Irony i·ro·ny
The use of words to express something different from and often opposite to their literal meaning.

An expression or utterance marked by a deliberate contrast between apparent and intended meaning.

A literary style employing such contrasts for humorous or rhetorical effect. See Synonyms at wit1.

Incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs: “Hyde noted the irony of Ireland's copying the nation she most hated” (Richard Kain).

An occurrence, result, or circumstance notable for such incongruity. See Usage Note at ironic.

That aside I did about four calls so far and nothing... pout.

I don't keep my phone wire plugged in. What if I was scheduled for an update a few days ago and plugge it in today or tomorrow. Would it update right away if I force a call, or do I have to wait in line until my turn comes around again? Anyone know?

I forced a call yesterday morning, but did not get it. On a whim, I went back and forced a call about 6 hours later and then my TiVo was cleared for the update. The speed improvement is great. The folders really tidy up our Now Playing List as well. It certainly wasn't worth all the anticipation, though.

Does it really take an hour and is the rest of the Tivo useless during that update? I forced a call a couple of days ago and nothing, but have been hesitent to do so while I have so much I want to watch and so little time to watch it all!! Tivo time is prescious in my house!!

Past updates have tied up the phone for an hour, but you can use Tivo during that time, just like normal. It might take longer to reboot the first time, but if that's an issue don't force a reboot until you're finished watching TV, or just let it reboot automatically at 2AM.

If it says "pending restart", then you've got it. As soon as it reboots, you'll have a brand spanking new 6.2!

Once it says pending restart just restart the recorder yourself and you have it. No need to wait at that point.

...waiting game...

Forced a ton of calls here in Des Moines...no luck...wonder if the upgrade has any constraints that it is doing certain models first, etc???
