Got 6.2 on my SD-DVR40 last night here in suburban St. Louis 63146. I bought my D* Tivo last March.

My buddy across town bought his D* Tivo in February and doesn't have 6.2 yet.

Gee I love quoting myself.

I forced the call last night and began to get a bit excited when I noticed that the download was a bit longer than normal. The download completed and the status changed to Pending.

Yep, I got the 6.2 upgrade which luckily finished installing just in time to record a show I had set for my sons. My first act was to activate folders, I think I'll like them as it will make it easier to find my wifes and children's SP rather than their being buried in my junk.

Big Grin Got it!

Just got it today and it rocks! My wife's a teacher so we have 29 episodes of Magic School Bus recorded for quick reference! Now they are nicely tucked away in a single folder.

Menu speed is WAY better as well. I'll check it again when I'm recording 2 shows at once.

Got mine today!! Oakland, CA 94610.

My DVR2 has 2 120 Gig drives in it, and it used to be SOOOO SLOW, and today, it's rockin' fast! My wife can't believe how fast it is now and the folders are super-cool now too since we have pages and pages of shows (a few entire seasons worth that we're saving up for the summer repeats).

Woo hoo is right!!

Got Mine Today

I have been forcing a daily call every day since the 16th. Just one call a day, and today must have been the day.

Once this is totally rolled out, I was thinking I'd take my TiVos over to the folks house and use their landline to dial in. They don't have DirecTV though. So as long as they call in and get the flag to download it, I can take 'em back home and they'll download from the satellite, correct?

Actually, I believe it's the reverse. The unit gets the upgrade downloaded from the satellite before it gets the go-ahead to actually install it. That way it's just a simple, quick phone call to enable 6.2.

They have already downloaded from the satellite, unless they are brand new. If they are brand new, they will download from the phone.

The phone call is just to activate them.

Your plan should work.

I've been experiencing the same. It's messing up on the call-ins. Same brand, same make. Just started happening today. Wonder if the "failed calls" are typical for this model?? and something they are trying to do in the call? Fails during download and configuration.

Not everyone gets it at once as we have all noticed, they accually go by the serial numbers when they send out the upgrade, so it is just a random process
