Me too. And count me in the "Don't like the new theme song" category... I loved the old one and listen to it regularly on my iPod. The new one... meh.

I've been thinking the same thing since rewatching the end of last seasons closer very carefully. There is a point where the gun could have been passed to Boomer. With Glactica Boomer now discovered we almost need to have another undiscovered human cylon on board.

Great episode. Worth the wait.

Man, the whole Sci-Fi Friday premiere line-up was good, but this was the best! I want to just right down and watch the rest of the season. They didn't miss a beat from last season. So many possibilities, so many twists and turns.

Boomer stealing the raider: OMG. WTF? Now what?

And re: the networking hack. Just to try and appease the hatahs: perhaps when the computers are not networked, they don't represent a significant enough target. The Cylons know that if they break in and corrupt the FTL computer, the humans can just shut it down and use another computer, or trade out parts, reformat, fix, whatever. But when the machines are all networked, they have a chance to take over the ship and/or destroy enough computers to cripple the ship.

And as to how the Cylons even hack in, perhaps they use the wireless transmissions from ship-to-viper as a carrier wave. In sci-fi, everything is explainable. Don't get too hung up on the little things.

I loved this episode. I even watched in IRT. The only thing that I didn't like, and still don't re: BSG, are the space battle scenes. 7 or so Galactica ship depart to fight, 1000+ Cylon ships depart and yet somehow the Galactica ships hardly ever get hit. Logically this makes no sence however, I suspend my logic for all Sci-Fi shows. All in all, I'm stoked that it is back on!

I think the little Cylon ships just aren't powerful enough to do much damage to Galactica. That's why they made such a big deal about that new kind of ship that attacked this week, which presumably could have hurt them. It's the missiles they probably have to watch out for; fortunately, the Cylons only seem to fire missiles when Galactica is jumping out. (They Have A Plan, you know!)

There's been too many posts after my question so I'll repeat it in the hopes that I'll get an answer:

did the people on Galactica used to shake hands with their left? they are now all shaking hand with their right...

Even at the first break, my reaction was ... Wow! I wish they had played out the Galactica being apart from the fleet a little longer. That was pretty cool. It also would have been interested to see that scenario from the fleet's perspective.

I love this show. It's easily the best thing on TV. Can't wait until next week.

It was established way back in the mini-series that networked computers are somehow vulnerable to Cylon intrusion but that standalone computers are not. They specifically make a point of the fact that there are no networks anywhere on the Galactica.

The quick shot they showed of what looked like a Cylon eye just before the virus entered the network is the Cylon weapon that affects computer networks. (This was also established in the mini-series.)

(It is implied that certain types of computers are vulnerable to the initial attack and, if those computers are networked, then the implanted virus can spread through it to other computers that could not be affected remotely. If all the computers are separate then the virus can't spread.)

Moore, in his podcast, admits that they didn't wrap up all the plotlines from last season in this episode. He says there were just too many to get everything to fit into one episode so some things will have to wait (part of the reason this first episode is a two-parter).

He has also said in earlier podcasts that they deliberately don't explicitly explain everything and assume the audience is sophisticated enough to "fill in the blanks". Probably one of the strengths of the show is that they don't talk down to their viewers.

It seems to me that the Raiders are all headed to BG and not paying attention to the Vipers...so the Vipers have almost free reign.

Also, BG puts out some pretty nasty anti-aircraft fire. We saw some of that last night.

I watched all of season one as the british versions, with my friend, mr. torrent.

I don't think I've ever heard the theme song from season 1 - us version. Anyone know where I can find it?

Also, was it "That bitch took my ride" or "Your bitch took my ride"? I watched live due to conflict, and have tivo recording a repeat.

The reason that we didn't get the UK theme song last season was the Sci-Fi channel thought it was too gloomy & depressing.

I think that this was the best episode so far, of the entire series.

Can't wait for next week...and it's been a long time since I've felt that way for any sci fi series.

I like the old theme song better. I was amused that the intro was changed to too remove the 'Some are even programmed to think they are human'.

There was honestly good and bad with the episode... The flashbacks were interesting, but didn't pan out. Some plot lines seemed rushed (Apollo getting re-instated/paroled for one), others were just beautiful. Overall it was a good episode, and I'm happy to have it back.

And there was a firefly commercial! How cool was that?

That's also what I heard. I think it's a lot funnier that way as an insult to both Helo and Cylon-Sharon.

They could have done a lot better with the appearance of the younger Adama. I wasn't sure how far back they were trying to make him look but something seemed weird about it. I can't wait to see what the future holds for SB and Helo.

The whole night was pretty incredible with all three shows. I was worried I'd be let down but not at all. It was awesome.

The only character from last season that didn't know she was a Cylon (as far as we know) was Boomer, and I think she realizes it now. Unless they plan on keeping us guessing that someone might be a cylon, they don't need that line.

My guess is that they are referring to Boomer's baby and that Boomer is on her way there cause the bitch stole Starbuck's ride.
